Lucifer huffed around his apartment, he could hear the party booming downstairs, it felt strange now. He knew if he went down there he'd be tempted to join in the party and then the Detective would get mad and he didn't want that. Surprisingly, she's scary when she's angry. So he dropped down on his arm chair, a glass of whiskey cradled in his hand, he swirled it in the glass before drinking it in one go. Alcohol didn't effect him all too much, unless he drunk gallons of the stuff but he still enjoyed it. He grabbed the remote that rested on the pristine, shiny glass coffee table and pressed the play button. Music played softly throughout the apartment, giving it its own atmosphere, making it clear that his personality was much different to his wild side of life which was dying inside as he tried to fight the urge to go down and join the dancing, partying, care free mundanes downstairs.

He hauled himself to his feet and out onto the balcony, watching out over his city. It was one of his best decisions in life; leaving hell. It made him feel like he'd finally lost all connections to his past, of course that could never really happen. He was destined to stay forever tied to his past, that's why it scared him. Being with Chloe made him vulnerable and that he didn't mind, that he actually enjoyed, but all the same. He had done a lot of things in his past that could come back to bite him, people are realising what Chloe means to him and what if someone he mistreated in the past comes back and takes it out on Chloe? He pushed the thought to the back of his mind, this is why he hated being alone. His thoughts just took over his mind, filling them with worries, things that make him back out of things. But believe it or not, he was happy being with Chloe.

He stepped back into his apartment, quickly becoming disgusted by the stench of the sewers which somehow, still managed to make it's way all the way up to his balcony. Even the devil hated the smell of sewers. He sat at his piano, switching off his music, prepared to create another song, compacted with buried emotion, when the doors to the elevator rung out, echoing around the apartment. Lucifer sighed, closing the lid back over his keys and swivelled in his seat, greeted by an officer that he was sure he'd seen some time in the precinct. He grumbled something about getting security and got to his feet as the nervous officer stepped in.

"What?" Lucifer said bluntly, not understanding why he had an officer arrive at his apartment, if something had happened Chloe would've came, or at least sent him a message to find her. But the man didn't seem to be in the mood for talking. He made a motion that made Lucifer think he was going to throw up but instead of puke, it was blood. It splattered over the floor, dribbling out of the policemans mouth. Lucifer cringed, taking a step back, his face lit up in disgust and curiosity. The man dropped to the floor, through his back was a large knife, a note pinned down by it. Honestly Lucifer was surprised the man had managed to make it up the elevator without dropping dead. "Really? Over my flooring, it's expensive." He sighed.

He knew it was a bad idea to touch the murder weapon, especially when the man had dropped dead in his apartment but he couldn't help it. He wanted to read the note. He pulled the knife from the mans back, he knew the cops wouldn't have found any fingerprints on the murder weapon anyway, killers aren't stupid. He grabbed a napkin from his top pocket, placed it down on the counter and placed the knife on top of it.

"No need to ruin my counter either, that cost even more than the flooring, now..." Lucifer muttered to himself, he lifted the note and glared at the words. "You and Decker stop searching for those kids or she's next on my hit list." He read, it was clear by his expression, he wasn't impressed. he sighed and placed the note on the table. He moved swiftly around his apartment in search for his phone, finding it and dialling Chloe's number, humming softly to himself as he waited for her to pick. "Ah, Detective!"

"Lucifer, it's almost five in the morning, what do you want?" Chloe groaned, her voice hoarse, Lucifer knew he'd woken her up, but he knew she'd want to know about this.

"It seems we have another threat on our hands. One of your workmates showed up in my apartment, dropped dead on my, might I say very expensive flooring, with a knife and a note in his back." He told her, he heard shuffling on the other side of the phone and assumed Chloe was getting ready to arrive.

"Just stay there and don't touch anything." Chloe urged strictly making Lucifer glance at the knife dripping blood on the napkin on his counter, then at the note he'd placed on the table. He had an idea and smirked down the phone.

"No touching, got it, I'll see you soon Detective." Lucifer said quickly, hanging up before she could respond and he dropped his phone on the sofa. He grabbed a bunch of tissue and a pair on gloves, he wiped down the note of any of his fingerprints, then placed it exactly where he found it over the mans back. Lucifer took hold of the knife and cleaned it off and glanced down at the officer, "I'll try make this quick, the Detective would rip my head off if she knew I checked the note and touched all this stuff."

He hovered the blade just above the wound and he plunged it back into the wound, made sure there was no prints he might've forgot, cleared up the napkin, tossed the gloves and tissue into the fire, it didn't take too long until they were ashes. He let out a breath, spinning as he heard a ding and smirking as his eyes landed on Chloe who rushed in, pausing for a moment at the officer, checking his pulse but then looked up at Lucifer. Concern filled her eyes, making him feel slightly guilty for not telling her he'd already read the note.

"Are you okay?" She asked, making him smile, stepping closer to her, she was still dressed in her pyjamas clearly she'd left immediately, he guessed she'd woken Maze, which was always a bad idea, but she must've told her to watch Trixie until she got back, although Trixie was asleep. He took hold of her hands and placed a kiss on her lips.

"Dandy Detective, although can't say the same for my flooring...or the man with the knife in his back." Lucifer spoke, a smile crawled across Chloe's lips, she shook her head and wrapped her arms around his neck, showing she was happy he was alright.

"I'm glad the killer didn't pay you a personal visit." She mumbled into his shoulder, he held her back and let out a laugh.

"You should know by now Detective, even if he did, he could do no harm to me."

"Maybe. But I like knowing no one is trying to murder you, its comforting." Chloe smirked, playing with his collar as he gazed down at her, his eyes flickering from her to her hand as she sorted out his collar.
