Lucifer walked to his car, Chloe close by his side as always. Yet the silence that hung between them was unnatural, it gave him time to think about the confession he'd made - to appreciate the fact that Chloe hadn't run. That in fact, she'd done the complete opposite. For whatever reason, the bond between the two felt closer than ever. No heavy weight baring down on his chest, screaming for escape like one of the demons in their cell in hell.

The dark haired man quickly skipped forward, making sure he was before Chloe, wanting to show her the gentleman that he was as he held open the passenger door for her. The gesture earning a quiet yet sweet thank you. A little action that warmed any ice that remained in his heart.

"Have you told anyone else?" Chloe pondered out loud, as they drove down what seemed like a mile long road. filled with nothing but streets and palm trees. Typical Los Angeles.

Lucifer felt those familiar crystal eyes boring a hole into his head, the woman noting the uncomfortable shuffle in the way he sat. But he was willing to openly answer any questions she threw his way.

"Just my therapist, there was only a little judgement on her part."

"Is that why you were complaining not long ago that you thought you'd broke her? Because she found out what happened?" The blonde recalled, her eyes finally drifting from Lucifer to the mesmerizing shades of blue in the sky.

As daunting as it was knowing that her best friend had committed a felony that he'd easily be arrested for, she knew Lucifer didn't have a murderous bone in his body.

"No, I'm afraid that was a whole other issue that I'd rather not dive into today." Lucifer answered truthfully, it was hard enough telling her about what had occurred with his brother. Let alone having to show her something he knew would undoubtedly push her away.

It's not everyday you get to see the devils face. Although, her reaction to his secret caused him to wonder whether she'd really be frightened of his real face if she thought he was innocent now. Then surely finding out he truly was the man of whom all of humanity blamed their sins on, she'd still see the innocence within him.

"Oh, right." Chloe replied rather shortly, she decided it was best not to press him for more than what he had today. Lucifer was known to run away from what scared him, and it was clear he was drawing an invisible line, praying she didn't cross over.

As silence crept it's way back into the rather expensive vehicle, Lucifer found himself getting lost in his thoughts. It was clear now that Chloe wasn't attempting to escape from his company, nor was she showing signs she was going to toss him in a cell and throw away the key. It was as though nothing had changed, something that lingered on the devilishly handsome mans mind.

"What going to happen from here? I don't believe you truly took it as well as you have." The man questioned cautiously. Anxiety growing deep down as he thought of the detective telling him she wanted him nowhere near her. "If you're uncomfortable with me being around Trixie, or even you, I will happily give you all of the time you need."

The sceptical blonde glanced towards her partner, icy orbs softened at his words. Usually hearing something so life altering, would startle her, make her stomach churn even and no doubt she'd need time to clear her mind. She knew somewhere inside her that if it was anyone else who'd confessed what he had, she'd convince them to turn themselves in. But she knew no-one would see Lucifer's innocence, they hadn't the last time he was accused of murder.

Chloe sucked in a breath, eyes falling to her hands that rested in her lap. Space would do nothing to help either of them, she didn't need to think about it to know that. As much as Lucifer could irritate her and manage to get under her skin, it killed her to be apart from the annoyingly charming man. So she shook her head, meeting his focused brown hues as they trained on the road that stretched before them.
