Fear, heartache and pain. These were the emotions running through Chloe's body right now.
Dan had entered the hospital with her, already knowing the woman feared hospital's. Besides, he wanted to see if Lucifer was okay, as much as the guy pissed him off, he didn't deserve death.
All that played through Chloe's troubled mind was the thought of Lucifer's body lying lifeless in some morgue. The feel of his warm touch still lingered on her skin, aching to feel his hands holding hers once more. Chloe headed straight for the front desk, she felt a little unsteady, eyes trained on her from every angle. She knew her eyes were most likely red from crying, alongside the fact that she was covered in blood too, it had dried up on her hands and stained her clothes. As though something had triggered her, her mind flashed to the amount of blood Lucifer must've lost and the sickening feeling grew once again, a lump forming in her throat so when she tried to speak to the lady she couldn't talk without choking on her tears, so she looked at Dan to speak for her.
"Lucifer Morningstar? He was just brought in." Dan informed the woman and she looked at Chloe eyeing her bloody clothes before typing something, scanning her screen and meeting Dan's awaiting gaze.
"He was just rushed into surgery, claimed his heart to have stopped but they're attempting to remove the glass impelled in his abdomen," The lady read from the screen, "Emergency room is on the second floor."
Dan thanked her and took ahold of Chloe, leading her towards the elevator, Chloe replayed the words 'his heart to have stopped'. Dan turned to face the shaken up woman beside him as the doors closed.
"What the hell happened, Chloe?" Chloe's glassy eyes struggled to meet Dan's curious expression. He needed answers.
"Lucifer saved me," Chloe told him, her voice breaking at his name, terrified he could be dead right now. "I found out something and I sped off, Lucifer told me to slow down and I did, just as I slowed down two cars collided...if it wasn't for Lucifer we'd have been in the crash too...we'd probably be dead. Once I processed what had happened, I was about to get out to check for any survivors but Lucifer pulled me back...then two cars blew up, spreading fire - if I'd gotten out I'd be killed - the fire was too much for the glass and it burst and Lucifer shielded me, h-he ended up getting--Dan he's hurt because of me, what if he's dead? I don't want to lose him, as annoying as he can be...I...I need him."
Dan took it in, he felt his heart warm at how Lucifer protected Chloe, he knew Lucifer wasn't a bad guy - especially when it came to his ex-wife. Dan enveloped Chloe into a hug, sensing she needed it, knowing she was worried sick about losing Lucifer. The blue eyed man hated to say it, but he could see Chloe cared for Lucifer, close to as much as Lucifer cared for her.

They saw a nurse come out of the operating room as they stepped out of the elevator. The woman wearing an operation mask, and throwing her gloves in the bin, blood covering both her gloves and apron. Chloe left Dan rushing towards the nurse. The lady seemed a little startled by the blonde, the woman appearing out of thin air. It her a couple of seconds to note the blood stains all over her, smeared over half of her clothes.
"Did you just operate on a guy with glass in his abdomen?" Chloe asked, the womans face softened as she said it and gave a light nod, removing her mask and tossing it in the bin.
"Lucifer Morningstar? Yes, he's lucky to be alive. They just did the last try of reviving him and at the last go his heart spiked, we'd even declared him dead at one point. Thankfully the glass wasn't too hard to extract." The lady explained, Chloe felt a weigh fall from her chest, bending over holding her knees as she let out a heavy sigh of relief.
"He's okay." She whispered to herself over and over, relieved the man she cared so much for would be alright. "When can I see him?"
"Well they're about to wheel him out to a roo--ah see, there he is, good as new." The nurse spoke happily, gesturing to the double doors.
Chloe watched as about three nurses wheeled Lucifer out of the emergency room, tubes in his arms, an oxygen mask to help him breathe, but he was alive. That was all that mattered. His eyes remained closed, Chloe wished they'd flicker open si she could see those goregous muddy brown eyes she so adored. The nurse chirped up once again.
"He's pretty handsome, right? Wait, you're the lady that was with him when it happened, right? You don't have a single scratch on you."
"Lucifer shielded me, when can I see him?" The blonde had repeated, needing an answer to the question haunting her thoughts.
"I'm not sure just yet, I can see if I can pull some strings and I'll let you stay until he wakes," Said the woman sweetly, holding Chloe's shoulder scrunching up her face as she looked down at Chloe's clothes. "Let's get you cleaned up first, ay? You're a bit shaken."
Chloe didn't understand why the woman was being so nice but she nodded, turning to Dan. "Thank you for coming, you wouldn't mind having Trixie, would you? I just--I don't want to bring her here yet, not with Lucifer like this."
"Of course, I'll bring her to see you two whenever he's awake. Tell Lucifer I'm glad he's alive." Dan nodded before heading back down the hall, leaving the blonde in the nurses hands. Chloe brought her attention back to the nurse she seemed to be trying to figure out something. But she simply gestured Chloe to follow her.
"So is he like...an ex?"
Chloe raised her eyebrow at the guess, it was pretty often that people got it wrong. "Yeah uh, ex-husband."
"And Lucifer's the boyfriend?" The nurse questioned, stopping at a room raising her hand to Chloe, telling her to stay there. "Because you gotta tell me how you get someone like that, I mean - he's gorgeous, even covered in blood and half dead."
Chloe felt her cheeks flush scarlet, "No, me and Lucifer are just friends...he's my partner."
"Cops?" The nurse spoke, reappearing with some jeans and a short sleeved top in her arms. The short woman leading Chloe to a staff bathroom. "Just wash off your hands, and there's a little blood on your face and then change into these, I'll wait out here."
"Yeah, the LAPD and thank you." Chloe smiled gratefully at the redhead, scooping up the clothes before going in and placing them beside the basin, scrubbing her hands.
The detective slipped into the retro looking clothes which had managed to just about fit her. The kind nurse was still outside as she said she'd be. Beaming sweetly at Chloe as left the bathroom, Chloe had taken down her hair and looked fresh as a daisy...despite the puffy eyes.
"Girl you pull off that outfit amazingly, come on, let's go check on your prince charming, shall we? They must've got him in his room now, but he'll be under anaesthetic, I'm not sure when he'll wake."
"Thank you for everything, I didn't catch your name?" Chloe smiled, tilting her head to the mysterious redhead walking happily beside her.
"Judy Harris, pleasure to meet you." She glowed showing her pearly white teeth, Chloe extended a hand for Judy to shake, she liked this woman.
"Chloe Decker."
