Chloe and Lucifer had walked to a near by park, letting Trixie go and play, she'd never been on this side of town before. It was a neighbourhood of snobby rich people, spoilt children and cruel attitudes, so Chloe was a bit wary but she let Trixie have fun and sat on the bench beside Lucifer. He shuffled over a bit, unsure if she wanted the space, he watched as Trixie swung across the monkey swings and smiled to himself as she swung across in no time. She really was a monkey.

"So, are you coming back to work?" Chloe spoke up, not looking at Lucifer, but she could see he'd turned his head to look at her. "Or are you staying at...your mothers? With children who get what they want at the first word."

"I'd much prefer to be around Beatrice than them, I can't stand the things...truthfully neither can mother but she jumped into that body so it's her fault," Lucifer complained, waving his hands around with a sigh. "Yes Detective, I'll come back to work...you didn't tell sir douche, did you?"

"What? That your the devil?" Chloe smirked, "No Lucifer, he'd think I hopped on the crazy train with you, then want to take Trixie before she turns nuts too."

"If the douche even thinks about taking Beatrice, I'll step in gladly."

"Hey, I thought you two were becoming friends?" Chloe exclaimed, slapping Lucifers arm playfully, he looked a little annoyed by it but shook it off.

"I think you and me both know that's going to take longer than a fanboy situation over a movie, the douche is a...complicated, annoying human, I usually stay far from them, their usually a bit doolally." Lucifer answered, a smirk growing on his face as he looked down at Chloe.

"So I'm a bit doolally?"

"Oh no Detective, you're a bit weird yes, but doolally? Far from it...more intriguing, fascinating...one of a kind shall I say," Lucifer shrugged, trying to think of what made Chloe different. "But you can't come knocking on my mothers door, she's not nice to anything especially something - someone who makes me vulnerable, that makes me human."

Chloe stayed quiet for a bit, trying to understand what he said. She made him human. But she thought that was impossible, it made no sense. "But how? I mean, your the devil, how could you get hurt?"

"Something I'm still trying to figure out, but...I know it's you, around you I can be killed, away from you I'm immortal, that's why I needed you to leave with Trixie, because when you leave my immortality returns and I'm fine." Lucifer explained as best as he could, but it was harder to explain than it seemed. "Like I said before, you make me vulnerable too, watch"

Lucifer pulled out a blade he'd kept in his inner pocket, Chloe was ready to stop him from being stupid but something stopped her. Lucifer glanced at Trixie she was playing happily so she wouldn't see. Lucifer plunged the knife into his stomach, instant blood. Chloe let out a gasp, unsure whether to call someone.

"Now leave. Go over the other side of the park" Lucifer muttered through gritted teeth, holding in his pain. Chloe was hesitant whether to leave him but she believed him enough and left as fast as she could. Moments later the wound had sealed, as if it was never there in the first place. Chloe came back hoping he was ok, and found him smiling brightly at her as she approached. She let out a breath of relief and amazement, gawking at him.

"That's incredible!" She exclaimed, lifting his shirt and checking the wound but nothing, not even a scratch was there. She looked up at Lucifer in disbelief.

"Not so good sometimes, like when we were in that car crash, it would be handy if I was immortal during those times" Lucifer commented, tucking his shirt back in and Chloe settled back next to him. Suddenly feeling bad.

"I'm sorry" Chloe apologized, making Lucifer's eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"You've nothing to be sorry for Detective, your not doing it purposely" Lucifer assured her, wrapping his hand around hers. Chloe gazed down at their entwined hands.

"So every time you jumped in front of a bullet for me, metaphorically and literally, you had a high chance of ending the existence of the devil?" Chloe asked.

"No, the devil would still exist, I'll just be killed then returned to hell" Lucifer shrugged, he liked this, talking about hell as though it was just an everyday subject. Chloe seemed pretty interested in his former home.

"Will you not be able to return to earth?" Chloe questioned, pretty sure that all her speech contains one question.

"As far as I know you stay in hell, this was only supposed to be a vacation, then it turned into something much more" Lucifer smiled. "Now enough questions, you should take Trixie home, I've got to get back to my mother. Mostly to make sure she doesn't start a human blood bath again"
