Chloe collapsed onto her bed after jogging home from school. She sighed as a tear rolled down her cheek. Her dad was locked in his study and Chloe heard him weeping. Beep! Chloe wiped her tear and saw a text from Kalani.
K- come to the 'Maddie shack' asap!!!!!
Chloe shivered. She didn't want to go back to that place as it bring back horrible memories. But she decided it was important and grabbed her phone, told her dad she was going for a walk and ran out the front door.
She had grabbed her headphones and plugged them in as she started the journey.

She approached the shack and didn't know wether she had to go in or Kalani was outside. So Chloe just waited out the front like an idiot until she came to her senses to knock. Kalani answered the door and it looked like she had seen a ghost. "Don't be in too much shock but, I think you should see for yourself." Kalani moved from the doorway and there, sitting on a stool, was the one and only;
Jaycee Wilkins.
"What the f*ck? No no no no this cannot be happening! This cannot be happening!" Screamed Chloe. Kalani was staring blankly at Jaycee as she waved awkwardly. "Uh, hey Chloe! Didn't expect for you guys to find me!" Chloe was fuming but also felt like she was hallucinating. Omg like, didn't you kill her? Of course she did, shut up! She is a murderer in my eyes. I thought so to! Multiple voices shouted through her head.
She fell to the ground as she felt far too weak to stand. Jaycee ran over and gave her some water that she pulled out of a black satchel. Chloe gulped it down and sighed in relief. "Thanks." Was all Chloe said. Jaycee twirled her hair nervously as she took a deep sigh. "You guys weren't my bestest friends but I guess you deserve to know the truth about how I'm still standing." Kalani had finally looked away from her spot and looked at Chloe.
Kalani nodded at Chloe and she slowly nodded, still taking it all in. "Ok. Go while I'm not screaming," Chloe said. Jaycee took a deep breath and shook her hands then started.
"On the 31 of March, 2014, I was meant to be going on a date with Gino. But, as I was sneaking out, my super strict parents caught me. They yelled and we argued for a good ten minutes. They then took my car keys so I couldn't leave and I was so upset that I ran upstairs to my bedroom and jumped out the window and decided to walk to the restaurant. Bad mistake. I got lost and ended up in the woods with only one bar left.
"I decided to text Gino and I told him I was lost in the woods somewhere. But as I kept walking, I saw a mental hospital up ahead. So I texted that I was near the mental hospital and if he could pick me up that would be great. I was actually five kilometres away from the hospital and I was exhausted. Suddenly, a car approached and it's headlights were very bright and I swear I became blinded by them.
"But a figure got out of the car in sleazy clothes. I was shocked as I saw Maddie swinging her keys around her finger. "What, so now that you wear sleazy clothing you're a rebel and I should be scared of you?" I laughed. This made Maddie really upset and she grabbed me and threw me in the back of her car and put me in a sack.
"The rest was kind of a blur, but I still remember it. I felt like I got thrown across the room and I landed on concrete. I then heard gates shutting and I realised I was in the mental hospital. I cussed and cried for help. I heard some footsteps and told them I was in the bag. The helped me and I looked up and saw," Jaycee didn't want to say Kalani's name so she just motioned to her.
"I'm going to skim over this part, but she bashed me and told me that it was payback for all the verbal abuse and that I had to wear what I say on my sleeve. A sickeningly sweet voice cooed Kalani back into her room and then I was alone and in pain. I still called out but no one replied. I began to cry but then realised that Gino was meant to pick me up. I called him but there wasn't any phone reception.
"I cried some more then Kendall came. Turns out she was volunteering for her father as she got a B or something. I asked Kendall to help me and she probably was trying to but it didn't work. She was carrying along some medicine and such and since she was incredible at science, she was sure she knew what she was doing. So she added some things together and gave me a whiff.
"I feel unconscious and I could hear Kendall in the distance saying how she sucked and would never try in school again. When I woke up I was tied to a chair and uh," she motioned to Chloe, "was there. She drove the knife through my stomach and ran. Gino showed up just in time and took me inside to the hospital. But Kendall had called the cops as she thought she killed me.
"Gino treated me inside and told me I had two options: I could go out there and get all of them in trouble but that meant my parents found out that I'd been dealing drugs and bullying, or I could go on the run and keep the girls safe but I wouldn't be able to see my family. I was an only child, centre of attention, and I hated it. So I went on the run and only told Taylor not Chloe as she was a blabbermouth.
"I was meeting up with Taylor in this shack for the past two years and now, now I guess you are both in the secret." She finished as Chloe and Kalani looked at each other. "Should we?" Chloe asked as Kalani nodded. "We have a secret to tell you as well." They looked at her deadly serious. "Can you keep it?" Jaycee nodded.
"A group of people have been threatening us, Kendall and Maddie. They said we had 1000 words, then you're gone. We were sh*t scared, and formed alliances to stay together and figure out who it was and take them to the police. But, Kendall was miss popular after you 'died' and used up all of her words and they killed her. And then they killed Maddie and now they're after us." Chloe explained as Kalani looked up. "I only had 69 words left but then I guess I've probably used them up," she smiled sadly.
They froze when suddenly three sharp knocks were heard from the outside of the door. "Open up b*tches!"
