My name is Nadia Lola Satola. I have just recently started year 9 at Wimotic high school. I have had to move from Australia to the Philippines because my parents got offered a job here and they say it's better this way. Honestly, I loved it there with all the gum trees and fresh air! unlike here in the Philippines, their tag-line is 'It's more fun in the Philippines' when it's really not. There's a lot of pollution here but I guess that you start to get used to it. I've made many friends but two of them are my best friends. Cameron is that one of them. He's the type of friend who understands any situation you're in, supports you in everything and best of all he is always there when I need him. He technically acts like my personal 'shoulder-to-cry-on' person. Today he was giving me tips on how to cope with my parents being overseas. I have had to be away from my parents since the day I got here. They are still in Australia because they have to finalize something there and I'm getting quite home sick. My other best friend is Courtney! She is like Cameron but instead of her giving me tips we share everything together. Like our secrets, dreams, crushes and all those other things. I consider her as my sister, as I don't have any siblings. Since Cameron is my 'shoulder-to-cry-on' friend, then that means that Courtney is my 'shoulder-to-lean-on' friend! I know that I can trust them both no matter what!

I have heard of many sayings about love from my parents ever since I was a little girl and I have always kept them close to my heart as they mean a lot to me. An important one that my pa told me was 'Give your heart to someone who can give you the love you need back.' Another one was when I asked my ma how she knew that pa was the man for her. She responded to me by saying"I knew that your pa was the one because I heard my own heart beat louder than ever and it was like it was only your pa and I in the whole world! Everything Went slow motion and that made me realise that the man that I have been hoping for was right there in front of my eyes." This gave me a feeling of wonder and hope about who will be 'the one' for me. But there was one saying that touched me the most, it was said by both my ma and pa. I guess that it was like our family motto. The saying was in Filipino and it went like this "Pag mahal ka,babalikan ka." It means "If they love you, they will come back to you." This is the saying that has kept me positive, considering the fact that I was away from my parents. This saying has also given assurance that they will come back to me
