Chapter 28 [Jade vs. Vince]
…then, what happened next?
Wala. Wala nang nangyari. After that incident, balik ulit ang lahat sa normal. Normal as wherein kawawa ang babaeng nagngangalang Charm.
Jayden didn’t talked to me again, I’ve seen him in school pero deadma lang.
And Vince? He tries to talk to me but still… it’s not the same. Pati ang awkward situation so we’d rather not talk.
And what about my dad’s proposal?
“Ma, can we talk?” After ng incident ko with Dad, this is the first time I talked with my mom.
“Sure, baby. What is it all about?” I know my mom’s extremely worried about this situation. Hindi niya basta basta binibring out ang topic na ‘to though kailangan dahil ayaw niyang maoffend yung feelings ko. My mom loves me.dearly.
“About Dad’s proposal of going to China?” As expected, shock ang itsura ni mama.
“I already made a decision.”
And that’s also why I called a meeting with my friends. I would announce my decision.
“Huy, Charm. Tulala ka jan? tungkol san ba ‘tong kalandian na ‘to?” Though it’s a weekend kasi eh talaga inisa-isa ko pa silang ipatawag dito sa starbucks para lang sa announcement na ‘to.
Kumpleto kami ngayong gabi. Masaya silang nagtatawanan. Haay.. looking at them one by one makes me think, mapaninindigan ko kaya ang decision ko?
Well… here goes…
“Ok. This is going to be though.” With those words, napafocus sila sakin. Kinabahan tuloy ako.
“As you all know, bumalik ang tatay ko after so many years. At sa pagbabalik niya, kinukuha niya kami ni mama para sumama sakaniya sa China. Where he found his new life.” I think they already know where this meeting is going.
“They left it all in my hands. Whether I chose to stay…or leave with them.” They all looked at me intently.
“At yun nga. Nakapagdesision na ko.”
Yung mga tingin nila sakin, it suddenly felt heavy.
“I decided to leave.” We all looked at each other for a matter of minutes. No one spoke a word. We all just fell silent.
“Guys… don’t make this hard for me.” Not realizing that my own tears are falling.
“As if mapipigilan naming hindi magreact ng ganito.”
Isipin niyo, I grew up without a father. This would be the first time na magkakaron ako ng isang pamilya…” at masyado nang magulo ang buhay ko dito. I need a break.
“We know. Naintindihan naman namin yun eh. pero siyempre di mo maalis samin ang malungkot at umiyak. Like hello? Since grade one magkakasama na tayo, we grew up together and this is a big change for us.” Ang haba ng sinabi ni Sam. Hindi ako sanay.
