"So how's Canada?" Hailey asks through phone.
"It's good, but New York is still the best" I answer without a single hesitation. I devote New York since I, myself love fashion, I love the trendy outfits released in New York everyday, every week. Also the music, of course. I was always updated but then that life was over ever since we moved in, here in Canada 2weeks ago. Dad said that his fiancee wants us to move here in her hometown.
"Hey" she says to call my attention, "have you seen this new mom-to-be of yours?" she add. I think things through, I actually haven't saw this woman's face, I also don't know how they met. Dad haven't introduce her to me nor vice versa. "Actually, I haven't really" I repond "Her face is still unkown" I continue "That's lame" she mutters, "I know"
"Sweetie, come here for a sec"
"Hey Hailey, I have to go. Dad is calling me. I'll text you later, bye" I say rushly then ended the call. I walk towards the living room from the upstairs balcony. I saw Dad sitting next to a woman.
"Hey sweetie" he says as he notice me, he take a good look at me from head to toe. "why are you wearing clothes like that? Didn't I told you that she'll arrive today?" he add. I shake my head and slightly pull down the sleeveless white shirt i'm wearing to cover my underwear.
"Anyway sweetie" he says, putting his hands around the waist of the woman sitting next to him as the woman stood up. "This is Louise Williams, your future mom and my fiancee, soon to be my wife" I look at her, she has a brown curly hair that lies above her shoulders, she's also wearing a purple long-sleeved top and jeans.
"H-hi" I shyly say, I admit it's a little awkward to have another girl in the house
"Hi, Francheska right? Mind if I call you Frances?" she asks. I nod, I don't know why I did even though it's only Mom and Dad who can call me that. It feels awkward if other people call you by nickname. "How old are you?" she added, "sixteen, you?" I say, playing with my nails. "A true lady never reveals her true age" she says, winking at me "you look just like me when I was still a sixteen year old girl"
I look alot like Mom, "You know, I love France. I studied there as a fashion designer" she add, my eyes sparkle in amusement. Fashi- wait snap out of it Francheska. It's just a trick. Look at her she doesn't look like a fashion designer at all
I look down to my foot and remember something "Oh! Dad, I have to pass the forms we forgot to bring last week when we enrolled" I said to intentionally get away from here. "Are you sure you'll be fine? Aren't you going to be lost?" he asks with a worried look all over his face. "I will, I have a map here in my phone"
I rushly ran upstairs to my room and locked the door. I catch my breath for a moment and walk towards the closet's drawer to take the forms; report card, birth certificate and student's profile, I put everything in my shoulder bag. I grab my skinny jeans and leather jacket to match my white shirt and put it on, I look at the mirror.
"My bangs are getting longer than I thought" I whisper as i comb my bangs down. I grab a scissor from my drawer and cut the hairs that lies on my eyes, I comb my black curly hair "I do look like her" I whisper.
I grab my bag and ran downstairs towards the door leading outside without saying a word.
