"Wake up, Frances"
Someone calls my name and I open my eyes - it's Mrs. Lautner
"What is it, Auntie?" I asks, brushing my eyes to see her clearer. putting my eye glasses on "It's 7:22 in the morning already, if you don't hurry up, you'll be late"
That sentence made my cells alive, I ran to the bathroom as fast as I can, remove my clothes, brush my teeth while bathing and wear my contact lenses. "I'll wait you in the car" Mrs. Lautner yells.
Why didn't I set my alarm clock? Damn it!
I put my summer white dress on, a leather jacket and my black wedge. I grab my white Jansport backpack with stars and head downstairs. I saw the breakfast for the day, it's a peanut butter sandwich - really? I don't eat peanuts.
I went to the garage and lock the door behind me without eating any breakfast, "I'm done" I say, entering the car. "Fasten your seat belt" she order and start the engine.
-
It took more than 20minutes to get there since their house are further than ours. "Thanks for the ride, Auntie" I say, heading inside the main building. I peek inside my bag to see if brought my cellphone - great, it's not here.
I accidentally bump someone, "Sorry" I look at the person, it's the miss. "Hey, lost again?" she asks, good timing.
"yes, do you know where the room 3-B is?" she nods, "that's my class, I'm the Literature teacher"
Really? Nice luck I have here!
We headed to that room, it's on the 2nd floor, the last room on your left. "Go to your seats everyone" she says, entering the room. I followed her, I look left to right to see where Christian is, I heard he's in my class. "She's a transferee, please introduce yourself"
I nod, "Umm, hi, I'm Francheska Collins. I'm from New york but me and Dad moved in here" I introduce.
"Hey Ches!" someone call, it's coming from the middle of the class - it's Christian, waving like a kid, he smiled.
I wave my hand, "sit wherever you want, Ms. Collins" I look around, the only chair available is - the chair in front of Christian, and so I sat on it.
"Hey" he whisper, smiling at me. "I didn't know you're in my class" he continue. I glimpse at him, "because you didn't asked" I smirk at him.
"Would you like to share in the class what you're talking about, Mr. Lautner?" miss says, come to think of it, I still don't know her.
"Umm, I was just asking Ches if she can tutor me in Literature" he randomly says. Miss stare at us in a few seconds then write something on the board; "Ro..me..o..and..Ju..l..i..et" he mutter. - such a kid, I chuckle
"I'm Ms. Smith, your Literature teacher for the entire year" she introduce, "and we're going to study about; Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare" she pauses, "anyone who already read this?"
I raised my right arm, "you read those kind of things?" Christian asks, with a curious tone. "Of course, it caught my interest" I answer. "At least someone here loves literature" Ms. Smith mumble "Ms. Collins, when did you read it?" she adds.
"I started reading Shakespeare's works when I was still 10years old, Romeo and Juliet was the first one" I stated "You said you read his works, you mean not just Romeo and Juliet?" she asks, giving the word "works" a tone. I nod, "yes, I had also read The Tempest, Hamlet and A Midsummer Night's Dream" I continue, a little bit proud of myself.
"Can you give a short summary of Romeo and Juliet? So that your classmates will have a hint about it" she asks, smiling at me. "Romeo and Juliet is about boy meets girl. They both know that their parents won't let them. Neither Romeo nor Juliet care, and they arrange to be married in secret.Juliet is distraught and seeks to fake her own death so that she can escape home to be with her love. However, Romeo is not told of this, and when he returns to town he believes Juliet to be dead. Anguished, he poisons himself, only to discover (too late) that his love is not really dead. And so Juliet stabs herself."
"Thank you, Ms. Collins. You may sit down alreaady" she says. I look at Christian behind me, he just stare at me "Is that really you? I didn't know your a geek yourself" he unbelievably asks, I smiled at him. "Because you didn't ask"
