We sat in a little booth with our ice cream bowls, I chose mint-choc-chip, and Mark decided on cookie-dough. The layout and design of the parlour is typical American, with the red bar stools, colourful lights and hundreds of flavours to choose from"Do you come here often?" Mark asked, taking a mouthful of his ice cream
I shook my head "Not a lot, no. We used to come here a lot when I was around 13/14, but since then we haven't been in ages"
He looked at me "If you ever want to come out and have some space, let me know. I can imagine how hard you find it"
"Thanks, Mark. Sometimes it all gets a little too much really"
He came and sat next to me and put his arm round me "You don't have to thank me"
We finished our icecream and left the parlour, as we were exiting, coincidentally Matt and Abbie walked in. I rolled my eyes and ignored them, trying not to make eye contact
"Watch where you're going" Matt called out, as he barged into me purposely
I turned on my heels and stared at him, I looked him up and down and scoffed, then turned back round and followed Mark out of the door. He had seen Matt and asked me about him when we got to the car
"Who was that?" he asked
"Just some idiot who thinks he can get on the football team by being my boyfriend, he's no one" I told him
Mark's jaw dropped "He did that to you?"
I nodded "Yup, just so Corey would keep him on the team"
"You make me a promise Alexa, that you won't let any boy, or anyone treat you like that! You deserve someone who will treat you right, and not because of who your brothers are"
"I promise"
My opinion on Mark is changing, he seems nice and I think we're gonna get along really well. As we were driving home, Mark was telling me about his life back in New York, it seems like an interesting place to live, as he lives in the centre. He told me how he's seen everything there is to see - The Statue of Liberty, he's been to Central Park many times as well as Times Square
"I'd love to go to New York" I admitted "It's on my bucket list"
Mark chuckled "One day we will go as a family, all seven of us"
"I would love it!" I gapsed
"Don't you worry, we will sort something out" he nodded
I looked at him and smiled "That sounds pretty good to me!"
He nodded "Sssh, do not say anything, but I'll try sort something when the twins and yourself are on half term"
"I won't Mark, I promise"
Pulling up at home, I thanked Mark for a lovely day, and we headed inside, where the guys were all still on the sofa watching the football. How boring
"Have a good time?" Brandon asked, not taking his eyes from the telly
I nodded "A really good time, thanks Brands!"
"Good to hear, was she well behaved, Mark?" Elliott asked
Throwing my hands in the air, I sighed "Guys! Chill, just calm down"
Elliott jumped up and put me in a headlock and ruffled my hair "C'mon kiddo we can't have you putting him off our family"
Pushing Elliott off me, I looked at him blankly "I'm sure we've all just had this conversation before we left! Stop being so over-protective and strict!"
"I'm only joking" Elliott laughed "Take a joke, Alexa"
I pouted "Sure thing, bro"
"OKAY GUYS, WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THIS! NOW CAN YOU BOTH SHUT UP? THE FOOTBALL IS ON" Corey shouted
"Oooh! Someone's in a mood" I whistled, sitting down on the sofa next to Luke
Mark made his way upstairs to shower and get some sleep, as the jet-lag was beginning to kick in, I gave him another hug and thanked him yet again
"Anytime you need me, you come to me, okay?" Mark made sure I knew that I could talk to him, which I appreciate
It looks like we're going to be a happy family again
Brandon
"WHAT A GOAL!!" I punched my fist in the air as England had scored yet another goal against Spain, making it 2-1 to us
"Sssh, you'll wake Mum" Alexa teased
I smirked "Go make yourself useful and get me a drink, a beer"
She shook her head "Why should I?"
"Because I told you to, now do it" I ordered
Reluctantly, she stood up and went to get me a beer. Why have a younger sister and not get her to run around after you?
"There" she handed me the cold can and smiled sarcastically
I opened the can and had a good drink "Next time you can do it with a smile"
Secretly I do enjoy winding her up, it's in the sibling rule book that the eldest has to annoy his or her younger siblings as MUCH as possible, and that's what I've been doing since Elliott, the twins and Alexa were born. It's my job to wind them up and get them to do stuff for me
