1 year later

A lot has changed in a year. The twins began at University and moved out of the family home. It was hard for me to get used to, but I've spent time travelling to their accommodation to go and visit them. Elliott didn't end up moving out of the family home, instead we had Brandon move back in, and I've never felt closer to them! Once I turned 18, they began treating me a lot more like an adult, and less like an 8 year old child
Elliott and Brandon both showed me that they can be the protective older brothers, but can give me space when I need it. They finally seem to understand me and even let me go out on the occasion evening with my friends! It's nice to be finally treated like an actual teenager and less like a little girl
Hannah, Adam and I unfortunately drifted apart, they came into a relationship and I remained with my brothers for a while, until I made my own group of friends, two guys and a girl from my Psychology class; Lily, Joe and Thomas. A lot happened at college over the year and it's changed me, but I'd say it's for the best
As I sit my exams in a few weeks, I'm planning on moving out to University to study Psychology at either Newcastle or Manchester. My family have been supporting me in taking me to open days and helping me along the way
Mum and Mark came straight home after their California trip, and their wedding is in an hour, which is insane! It seems like yesterday that I was meeting Mark for the first time, and over the past year he has been more of a Father to me than my real dad was ever to me. Mark treats me like his own daughter, but I remain calling him 'Mark', as calling him any other name just doesn't feel right
As I sit at home in my bridesmaid dress, I feel a sense of warmth and happiness in myself, that everything has turned out okay in the end, even if it was a struggle getting there. It's been a rocky ride wit a lot of ups and downs, but we are finally at the end and are happy, living as a family. Whilst the twins live in a different city, we made an agreement to all see each other on a regular basis
"It worked out in the end, Mum" I smiled as I held her hands "You look beautiful"
She smiled and kissed the top of my head "I love you, baby girl"
"Always and forever" I whispered in her ear gently
"I'm so proud of the young lady you are becoming, you make me so proud every single day" her voice was calm and her eyes were sparkling
"It's all down to them" I glanced at my brothers, "the guys who raised me"
Brandon
"Here we are, who'd have guessed that everything would be alright in the end?" I sighed, looking around the room at my younger siblings
We were sat in a little side room in the Church waiting for the wedding to begin, and were habing a little sibling meeting
"We made it in the end" Alexa smiled softly
Having a family hug, I couldn't be happier for us all, not just as siblings, but for Mum and Mark also. When Dad left us, we weren't put in the best situation, and there were times when we never imagined it would turn out as well as it has done. You've got to fight the bad, because no matter what, things will get better
"I love you all so much, I'm sorry for all the times I've made your lives hard" Alexa whispered
Corey put his arm around her "Don't worry Shorty, it's what all brothers and sisters are like. We love you"
The Church was already pretty full now, family and friends had taken their places and were excited to see the beautiful bride; our Mother!
As we sat in a row in the Church, I couldn't help but smile as I watched the priest marry Mum and Mark, as they said their vows and showed their deep love for one another
Mum's dress was a gorgeous slim, long dress, with lace sleeves and small detailing of flowers near the bottom, which Alexa helped her choose
As Mum and Mark held hands and looked into each others eyes, the following two words to be said, would begin their marriage forever
"I do"
