"You're so hungover" I teased the twins, as we were on our way to the airport"I'm not" Luke muttered, he had his hoodie on and his hood covered his face "I promise"
I chuckled at his comment and poked him in the side "Did someone lose count of their drinking?"
He shook his head and rested it on the window, falling asleep and making himself comfortable as he laid his legs over me and Corey
I rubbed his arm "You get some sleep"
So far, Corey was holding up. He had been sick a few times this morning but didn't seem too impacted by the drinking; he's always been the type of person to go out and drink all night, and then not feel the hangover and the pain in the morning. Lucky thing
Elliott turned around and laughed at Luke, who was fast asleep and unaware of what was going on. Luke's not a big drinker and doesn't often go out, on the odd times that he does, he drinks a lot and always ends up regretting it in the morning when he is being sick
Here we are, three weeks later, back at the airport. A lot has happened in the past three weeks, we've cried, we've laughed, we've had good times and bad times. As far as Mum is aware, it's all being good
I stood beside Elliot, waiting for the familiar figure to walk through with her suitcase and a smile on her face. Not only are we bringing Mum home, but we are also meeting Mark for the first time, we've had to open up the seats in the very back of the car for us to all fit in!
Then, it happened
Mum's smiley face came walking towards us, she opened her arms and I ran into them, she embraced me in a hug and I began crying. I know I've said that I don't like the things she has done, such as leaving me all the time, but she's my mum and I love her so much
"I've missed my little girl" she stroked my hair and kissed the top of my head, as we walked back to my brothers
"My boys" she wiped her eyes as she brought all five of us into a hug "I've missed you all incredibly"
We stood in the airport having a family hug, we didn't speak, we just stood hugging
"I've missed you Mum" I whispered
She pulled away and wiped her eyes, as a tall dark haired male came over and kissed her cheek. I can only assume it's Mark
"Hello" he smiled, with a thick American accent "I'm Mark. Don't worry, I won't expect you to call me Dad or anything"
"Good, because you're not our Dad" I muttered under my breath
"He'll probably be better than our biological dad" Luke whispered
The seven of us left the airport and made our way to the car park, mum and Mark were in each others arms, laughing and gazing into each others eyes. Mum had given Elliott her suitcase to wheel, whilst Brandon had the job of wheeling Mark's.
"How have you managed this week?" Mum asked, taking her eyes from Mark's and looking at us
Brandon shrugged "It's been good"
"We've managed" Elliott answered
Mum glared at me "I hope you've been on your best behaviour Alexa"
I nodded "Of course I have!"
"Mm, I'll be making sure you're not lying to me young lady" she warned
I rolled my eyes and continued walking to the car in silence. Brandon and Elliott were upfront, with Mum, Mark and Luke in the back, and Corey and I in the back-back
"I'm thinking we can all go out for dinner one evening, my treat" Mark mentioned to us all "Your beautiful mother has already told me loads about you! It's just a shame we've never met before"
Brandon looked at us in the rear-view mirror "We would all love that! Thanks Mark"
Mark has a strong resemblance to Dennis Quaid, the guy from The Parent Trap. He appears to be the typical dad. No matter how bad of a guy my Dad is, this dude will not replace him. I don't need a father figure in my life
The whole way home, I listened to their conversations, it was mainly between Mum and Mark, who were sharing their stories frome the three weeks. They weren't too interesting - it was mainly them talking about the restaurants they visited, the sites they saw and all the cliche things that couples do on holiday
"You will have to come out and visit the house, it's got enough rooms for you all" Mark explained to us all "You'd love it Alexa"
I furrowed my brows "Mm sounds nice"
That was a complete and utter lie. Why does Mark think that he knows what I'd love? He hardly knows me! He's only met me once; and we've barely even spoken..
"Mark's going to be staying with us for two weeks, we can do so much together as a family!" Mum clapped her hands in excitement like a child
This whole two weeks will revolve around Mum and Mark, we will have to look like a happy family when we go on days out. It's kind of upset me really that she's come home from being away for THREE WEEKS, and is so focused on Mark, I know they're engaged and I'm happy for her, but it would be nice for us to spend some time with her
Not with Mark
I don't think we're gonna get along
