Tonight was the big game of the NLCS, the Cubbies had to win this game to go to the World Series to face the Indians.
Of course, I was supporting my boyfriend of 5 years, Kris Bryant the starting third baseman for them and I couldn't be any more proud of the way the guys played.
I was sitting with the other wives and girlfriends, all wearing our significant others jersey as we do every home game.
Finally it was the top of the ninth Cubs were up 5-0, so we really didn't have anything to worry about. The last play was made for the out and the crowd went nuts and so did the guys. The wives and girlfriends all hugged each other and made our way down to the field to celebrate with them.
I ran up to Kris and he picked me up and spun me around. "I'm so proud of you babe! You're going to the freaking World Series!" I said as he put me down. "I love you Allison, thank you for always being there for me." He said kissing me.
Anthony handed him something and kept it behind his back so I couldn't see what it was. Then Joe handed him a mic.
"Alright before we sing Go Cubs Go, I have something to say to my beautiful and wonderful girlfriend Allison." He announced to the crowd and I immediately know where this is going.
He grabbed my hand and smiled at me before beginning his speech. "Allison these past five years have been nothing but filled with fun, love, and tough times when it comes to my career, but you've been there to support me through it all. From our days at The University of San Diego to being here winning the National League pennant. I wouldn't want to do it any other person besides you, the love of my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so Allison, will you become my Mrs. Bryant?" He said getting down on one knee.
Tears came out and all I could do was nod with the biggest smile on my face. He smiled and put the ring on my finger and brought me into a kiss. Soon enough, there was gatorade being poured all over us.
"I love you future Mrs. Bryant." He said when we pulled away from the kiss. "I love you too Mr. Bryant."
