Brittany's pov

Jason's pacing the hospital floor, his hands shakily clasped in front of him. Mo was sitting down, his head in his hands. I already called her other parents and older brother and they're on their way. I stand up and grab my husband's hand. "Jason you've got to calm down. You're gonna give yourself a panic attack." "How the fuck am I gonna calm down when she just attempted suicide and is stuck on a ventilator!? I can barely even think right now!" "That's why you have to calm down." "I'm so scared, Britt." I fight back my own tears and hug him. He's very close with her because they share the love of music, way closer than I am sadly. "I'm scared too, Jay." I whisper, shakily. Her parents get here too along with Sierra.

Jason's pov

Sierra runs for the hallway and I grab her shoulder in time. "We can't go back there right now." "The hell I can't! The past two times this happened I was there!" I thought they only talked through the phone. "Well technically I talked to her through video chat but you get my point! She needs me!" "She needs us to be strong but we aren't allowed back there right now." "How'd this happen?" "I don't know exactly why but me and Mo were fighting earlier."

Miranda's pov

*in her dream*

I flinched hearing something shatter. I covered my head with a blanket, freaked out. "You know you did it! I hate you! I want you gone! Out of my life for good!" "Fuck you! That isn't happening! What are you gonna do?! You can't pay for this house without me, you lazy bitch!" The door opens. My older brother collapses in front of me on his knees. "I've been looking all over for you." "Mom and daddy just won't stop it!" I whimper, lowering my hands. He hugs me to his chest. I cry hard. "You're a monster!" I hear mom scream. "And you're a no good fat useless slob who sits around doing nothing!" Dad yells back. "Does nothing?! Who raised the kids single handedly cause you were too busy fucking other women!" "Miranda don't listen to them." Sean says, covering my ears. "I want it to be over. I just want it all to end." I beg.

Jason's pov

They said we could come back there. I ran faster than a speeding bullet. She was waking up. "I want it to be over. I just want it to end." She whispers, turning her head from side to side. "Princess?" I shakily whisper, sitting on the edge of her bed and brushing her sweaty hair back. She calms slightly when my hand was against her forehead. "Miranda wake up." I whisper as calmly as I can. She opens her eyes, blinking several times. "D-Dad." I force a smile as tears fall down my cheeks. "Yeah baby girl, it's me." "W-What's going on? Why... Why's everyone in my bedroom?" "We're not in your bedroom, sweetheart, we're in the hospital." Her eyes go wide. "Don't you ever do that to me again, girl!" Sierra gasps hugging her. She starts to cry. "I'm so sorry guys."

Miranda's pov

My brother walks into view. My dream well memory comes back full force, bringing more tears to my eyes. I shakily sit up and hug him sobbing. "What's wrong with me?" I whimper. "You're depressed. That doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. You're still my strong hardheaded baby sister right?" "Of course." I say, wiping my eyes. "And you're still gonna make CDs I can buy at a brotherly discount, right?" I laugh again. The young 23 year old smiles. "And you're still gonna be the most badass country singer Nashville has ever seen, right?" I smile. "You know it brother." "Then there ain't nothin' wrong with my badass baby sister." My birth mother sits beside Dad. "Thanks for calling." She says. "I... I didn't. Britt did." He says, pointing. "Mom." I squeak softly. She hugs me next. "I'm so sorry mom. I made everyone leave Oxford because I'm acting like a stupid teenager!" She stares at me shocked. "Don't you ever say that again! That's not true!"

Jason's pov

"Wait, mom, who's watching the little ones?" She almost kills herself and she's thinking of them. That just shows she'd be a good mother. Man, everything went downhill after the miscarriage. Mo was never like he is now. He was so sweet and loving to her. Not anymore. He's a violent drunk. "Your grandmother." "Oh jeez please tell me your mom!" "Of course sweety." I see her stepdad roll his eyes. Me, Chris, and her birth dad Larry step out into the hall for a quick breather. "What was with that last remark?" Chris sighs. "My mom's got a doberman and Miranda's deathly afraid of them. She doesn't like the younger kids going over there because of the dog." "Well why is she afraid of them?" They both shrug. "Always have been. Now Gracie, the doberman my mom's got is a gentle dog, wouldn't hurt a fly." "And it's just dobermans?" He nods. "Weird." "I can't believe she almost killed herself." Chris whispers. "She attempted to. I saved her in time." I shakily say. "I can't believe I had to leave work when she's obviously fine!" My eyes go wide. "Wow. You're a bigger douchebag then I thought you were!" I gasp, angrily. "Real fuckin' cool, jerk!" Chris snaps. "Ya know it's sad. The stepdad and adoptive dad care more about her than her own real father." "She's fine. Why are you all freaking out?!" "SHE ALMOST DIED TONIGHT!! DO YOU EVEN CARE?!" "She didn't die! Idiot!" Man I hate him more than Mo! I walk back in her room. "Can we get a minute alone?" I say. Everyone leaves thankfully. "Hey baby, how ya feelin'?" "Better..... I heard you and Chris and dad talking." Uh oh. "You can't really blame him. He works at a hospital. This is everyday for him. He calls it as he sees it." I shake my head and sit beside her. "Girl, you're supposed to be his daughter. He's supposed to care. You give that guy way too many excuses and chances. I hate having to share you with other dads." She laughs softly. She glances at the door. "Really between you and me you're the only daddy I really love." She whispers. I smile. "I'll always love you, sweetheart, I don't care if you're eighty you'll always be my baby." She smiles. I hug her. "Don't you ever do something like this to me again. I can't lose my little girl." "I'm sorry dad." "Don't be sorry. Just don't do it." "I won't. I love you dad." "I love you too."
