Miranda's pov

I woke up when I heard crying. I walked down to the girls' room. Keely was crying softly. I knocked quietly on the door. She almost screamed but held it in. "Keels, ya wanna talk? Sister to sister?" She stares at the ground, unanswering. "Mind if I come in?" She nods. I sit beside her and hug her sideways. "I'm scared." She whispers. "Scared of what?" I ask. "My friend Stacey. She's got depression and her dad is alcoholic. She's suicidal and almost killed herself twice." For the next three hours, I talked with Keely and cheered her up. After our long talk, I tucked her in. "I know you're not really my sister but.... You are my sister." I smile. "Blood doesn't make family Keely. You are and forever will be my little sister." Fresh tears hint at her eyes. I brush them away lightly with the back of my hand.

Jason's pov

*two weeks later*

"Daddy!" I smile and hug Kendyl. "Hey princess. I missed you." I can hear something cooking in the kitchen. I walk in there, finding Cole, Keely, and Miranda. Keely is smiling from ear to ear while her and Miranda are working on some book. "What are y'all doing?" "A scrapbook for Stacey. So she isn't sad anymore." I'm guessing Stacey is the friend who almost killed herself. I put a hand on her head. "I'm glad to see you happy again Keels." Brittany calls me. "We're gonna be late." "On my way baby." Gotta go to the appointment. I say goodbye and jump in my truck. "Oh honey, I'm getting too old for this." She laughs softly. We drive to the doctor's.

Miranda's pov

"You sure you got the girls?" Cole laughs. "Silly girl, I've got 'em." "And if dad asks, tell him I'll be back soon." He nods and I head back home to visit my mom and stepdad. I hand them tickets to the concert tomorrow night in Batesville. Emma and Ali get home from school. "Where's CJ?" "He's at Nana's, he wasn't feeling good and since we both had to work-" Mom starts. I turn around worried. "You'll be able to come tomorrow right?" She nods. "We're both off then." "Good."

*the next day*

"If you think you're the only one.... She'll want.... In this world.... Then you.... Don't know nothin'.... Bout girls!" The crowd cheers and chants my name. My heart soars.

Jason's pov

"Ok y'all I wanna sing ya a song that I haven't made public yet." She says, smiling with so much excitement in her eyes. I love seeing her like this. "I need my dad to come up here with me!" What? Ok didn't expect that. I walk onstage beside her and the crowd cheers loudly. She laughs. "This song's for you dad." She strums to a slow song.

Miranda's pov

"I've written a thousand words about me, a thousand words about who I will be. But the one thing I felt but didn't do..... Was about my dad and how much he knew. He showed me how to be strong and brave, how to let go but how not to cave. He showed me a world of possibilities and a darker world of horrors and thieves. Throughout it all, you still stood so steady. With a heart of gold, beating and ready." I break into a guitar chorus and look out at the crowd. "I know some of you have a dad who means the world to you. Well I was lucky enough of be found by mine!" I say, smiling back at the man that changed my life. I start the song again. "I gotta say, without  shadow of a doubt. I wouldn't be standing here if it didn't work out. My dad showed me the ways of the world. And within it, a bright eyed young girl! I won't give up. I won't give in. Lovin' your daddy ain't no sin! Throughout it all you still stood so steady, with a heart full of gold, beating and ready!" I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Daddy, I know you're scared for me, trust me I do but your teachings have taught me always be true! For this girl will shine and the bounty be plenty for you had a heart of gold, beating and ready." I lower my guitar. The fans are in stunned silence then they erupt in applause. I slide out of my guitar and turn around to my teary eyed father. "My God, I don't know what to say. That.... That song was beautiful, baby girl." I smile and wipe my tears then hug my dad. "You've done so much for me. You saved my life. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me." I say. "I love you so much sweetheart. And I'm so glad I get to be your father." I smile. "Oh gosh daddy, you're crying." He smiles softly.  "Tears of joy, sweet girl, tears of joy."

The song Beating and ready I wrote that myself. I hope you liked it. I put a lot of work into it.
