Chapter Fourteen

Amanda’s P.O.V

I woke up to a voice in my room. I sat up, and saw Dylan sitting on my desk chair, talking to himself about what was on my desk. I blinked. Why is he up so early? Why is he here?

“You have a lot of girly crap in here. Pink everything! I don’t get how you can stand it. I mean, seriously. Pink picture frames, pink pens, pink paper. I don’t know how I’ve been able to be seen with you.” He was saying.

I blinked and sat up more, still covered by my blanket. “What are you doing here?”

“Me? Oh. I wanted to get you back, because my mom woke me up this morning to watch Brian, and I thought this would be more fun after she got back from the store. Boy was I right. Not only did I get to snoop through your room, I got to wake you up too.”

“So that’s the only reason you’re here?” I asked. This really surprised me. Suddenly I was sleeping in, and he was waking up early? What’s with us?

“No. I was mostly just coming to ask you something.”

My heart started beating faster. What if he…No. He wouldn’t do that. He doesn’t like me like that. But, what if he…no! I already went through this! He wouldn’t ask me out even if he wanted to. He was just telling me how he didn’t know why he allowed himself to be seen with me. He wouldn’t want to go out with me. “What is it?”

“You’re going to a party with me. I’m taking your brother’s advice. You really need to go to a party for once in your life, Amanda.” he said, turning to look at me. He had a stern look on his face.

“No. I’m not going to a party.” But, I really want to go with you. Having him be the one to ask me makes me want to actually go. But, Finn…he died going to a party. I don’t want to be like him, and I don’t want to go against God.

“You don’t have to drink, Amanda. Just go for the experience. Please?”

“You actually said please to someone? Someone should get that on camera.” I told him, smiling.

He rolled his eyes. “Very funny. But come on. It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll actually like it if you go.” he said, standing up now, stretching his arms over his head. His shirt slipped up, and showed the V, and my heart started thumping behind my rib cage. Then he came over to my bed and flopped down on it next to me, putting his arms behind his head and staring up at my ceiling.

“I highly doubt that. It’s a party. Drinking, drugs, loud music, dancing…must I continue?”

“That’s only if you go to the wrong party. If you know the right people, the drugs aspect is gone.”

I raised an eye brow at him. “And you know the right people? The jerk of the school? You beat up everyone.” I just stared down at him.

His eyes flicked to me, annoyance cast in them. “I only beat up a few kids. But they deserved it. One knocked down my tray. So, I just kind of, punched him a bit and locked him in a bathroom.” he shrugged. “My victims ask for it.”

“No one asks to be beat up, Dylan.”

“Well, they did. So, are you coming or not? I’m hoping for a yes, but, I suppose…wait. No, I actually could carry you to my car, stuff you inside, and carry you into the party too. So, basically, it’s either say yes and go willingly, or I can take you there against your will. Pick your poison.” He said, while grinning up at me.

I frowned down at him. Would he really force me to go to a party? “You wouldn’t force me. If I didn’t get dressed for it, what would you do? Hm?”
