You were humming along to your favorite song while gathering your clothes for the day and making your way to the shower. It was the first time in a long time that you weren't stuck at the tower and had some time to yourself. You weren't sure how long you stood in the shower but when you started to shave your legs your fingers were little prunes. You had just finished one leg when your phone rang from the sink. You sighed and leaned around the curtin to see who was calling and groaned when you saw Steve's name stretched across the screen. Toweling off your hands you answered it before it could go to voicemail.
"This better be a good one Rodgers." You sighed hitting the speaker phone and stepping out of the shower.
"Well. I hate to say it bu-"
"Then don't say it." You cut him off and after the hesitation you rolled your eyes. "Tell me what you want from me on my day off. All you guys miss me already?" You snort
"Uhh. No. But I don't mean that in a mean way it's just-" He was stumbling over his words now so you knew it was something major.
"Take a breath Steve." You stated as you turned the water off to hear better.
"We need you in for this mission. I know Fury gave you the day off but I need everyone here and we could really use you." He said
You sighed and rested your head against the wall. So close. You were so close to being able to do nothing today.
"Y/n?"
"Yeah. I hear ya. How soon?" You wrapped your hair in a towel.
"Tony is already on his way."
As if on cue your doorbell rang and you sighed as it rang again. Does that man have no patience?
"Fine. Give me twenty." You said looking down at one unshaved leg.
"I can give you five to ten Y/n." And with that he hung up.
"Well this sucks." You sighed as you threw on pants and a sweatshirt. You whipped the bathroom door open letting the pent in steam roll out and around Tony who was about to knock. "Dude you need to relax." You raised an eyebrow at him. "Let me just grab my bag. Or will I move to slow?" You smirked and moved past him toward your room.
"Yeah. Tell the guy who gets anxiety attacks to relax. Cuz that helps." He snorted and followed you. "And for being as cold hearted as you are I'm surprised you take that hot of a shower." He leaned on your door frame watching you rummage in your closet for the pre-made bag.
"I thought you didn't get those attacks anymore." You stated simply as you shouldered the bag and pushed everything back into the closet. "And besides. I like to thaw out on my days off." You stepped in front of him. "Now my warm heart might have some kind emotion during the mission." You said and dramatically placed your hand over year heart. "How will I cope?"
"I don't think you know anything other than sarcasm Sweetheart." Tony stated as he followed you down the stairs to where he had left his suit in your living room. He stepped in and moved outside while you locked everything up.
"You know I hate this." You sighed closing the door behind yourself. "Couldn't you have driven like a normal person? Or is that too main stream?" You asked before letting him wrap his arms around you. "Then again your ego might not have f-" You were cut off as he skyrocketed into the air. "I hate you." You panted squeezing your eyes shut.
"Sure you do Sweetheart." You heard him chuckle.

The two of you landed on the roof of the tower and Tony held you a moment while you waited for your head to stop spinning.
