You laid in bed, eyes closed, curled into Clint. His fingers idly trailed your bare side and a soft sigh escaped you. You had never been more content in your life and you were ready to stay like this for the rest of your life, or at least until your phone buzzed.
You squeezed your eyes shut harder before sighing and sitting up. One last mission, that's all you had to do.
"Arnt we supposed to be done with all this?" Clint sighed as he watched you put your shirt back on.
"Well I mean technically I'm not discharged until next month, but really whats one more fight?" You said looking back over at him. "Look im going with or without you, it is my orders." You sighed. "And trust me I would rather it be with you watching my back versus some eighteen year old who just got out of boot camp." You pointed out.
You had been in the military for almost 9 years now and you were so ready to be out of it now. You never minded the hard work or grueling hours on the field, you quite enjoyed it actually. That was until you met Clint. Suddenly you wanted nothing more than to lay snuggled with him in bed while the hours ticked by and the two of you spoke of mindless things.
Clint chuckled a little as he sat up. "I suppose that's true." He mused as he gathered his own shirt from the floor. "After this though you're on your own." He said.
You rolled your eyes at him. "We'll see about that." You said with a smile before giving him a kiss that made him pull you closer.
"Okay. Just most things you'll be on your own." He said with a wicked grin that you returned.

You resisted the urge to roll your eyes as you listened to the third briefing of the night. Clint stood behind you mindlessly braiding your hair. It was just a standard get in get the info and get out, nothing new. Your squad had moved into position during the night with orders to move and clear out the small village starting at dawn.
You turned at the end of the last meeting and gave Clint a quick kiss. "One for good luck right?" You grinned at him.
"Something like that." He chuckled and held you close while you waited for the crack of dawn. "So what do you plan to do when you retire from this?" He quizzed.
You tipped your head back a little to look at him. "I'm thinking we move somewhere rural." You mused simply.
"Rural?"
"Yeah I mean think about it. When there is some kind of major event it always wreaks havoc in big cities ya know. Not small towns with trigger happy red necks." You pointed out as if it was obvious.
"Okay well," he hesitated before shrugging, "yeah you got a point." He chuckled. "I think i can live with that."
"Who said you were invited?" You cocked an eyebrow at him.
"When you said 'WE would move.'" He grinned back at you.
"Hmph. You got me there." You mumbled through a smile. "Just one quick mission and we can find a house."

If you were a betting person you would have lost your life savings on what would happen two hours later. You kneeled over a wounded private trying to stop the bleeding in his leg while Clint and another covered you with gunfire.
As it would seem your whole unit walked into ambush and you got separated into small groups as everyone scrambled for cover, that happened an hour ago and you haven't found anyone else yet.
"We need to get him into one of these buildings!" You called over to where Clint and Mason leaned against an over turned car. Your eyes locked onto one a few feet away, through an open street. Connor wouldn't be able to walk there but Mason could carry him.
