You let the seat belt slide back into its place and looked into your back seat. "Tony is going to kill me." You mutter and jump out of the car. You stepped to the back of your car and gathered the two things you had pick up on the way home. You stepped into the foyer if the tower and spoke quickly. "FRIDAY please don't tell Tony I'm home. Also where is he?" You asked adjusting the load slightly.

"I will not tell Tony, who is in his lab Miss Y/n."

"Perfect." You mumbled as you stepped into the elevator. Probably the first time you were happy for it. Even if it was just for the time being. One of the bundles started to slide from your arm as the door opened on a different floor. You stared wide eyed at Clint.

"Tony is going to kill you." He laughed and took the sliding bundle from your arm as he stood beside you on the elevator. "Normally I would ask where and why, but I think I'm going to help you out this time." He smirked at you.

"I don't know that you could actually help without making it worse Clint, but I'll take it." You sighed and watched him play with the Husky puppy in his arms.

"So what do you need me to do?"

"Uhh stall Tony until I can get these two to stay quiet in our room and he has enough liquor in him so he doesn't freak." You sighed and pulled your fingers through the fur of the puppy you held.

"I thought you hated when Tony drinks." Clint frowned at you.

"I do, but I also hate when he is mad at me." You sighed and stepped off the elevator and moved to your room. Clint put the puppy on the floor and patted your shoulder.

"I'm only doing this because I love dogs. And you're pretty cool." He nodded once and turned to go upstairs.

You closed the door and put the other puppy on the floor. "Okay. This should be-" You stopped as your phone buzzed in your pocket. You pulled it out and read the message at the same time the door opened behind you.

"Oh you are." The voice stopped and you tensed but didn't turn around. "Home." He finished with a sigh. "Y/n what did I tell you about pets in the tower?"

You turned around now and looked at the two puppies trying to get Tony's attention. Your gaze flicked to Clint's text telling you Tony was on his way. You looked up at Tony sheepishly. "Yeah but they're so cute Tony. And of i didn't take them they wouldn't have been able to see the sunrise tomorrow and that's just not right." You said quickly and watched for his reaction.

"No."

"But-"

"Nope."

"Plea-"

"Not gonna happen."

"Tony."

"I said no Y/n now get them out in the next ten minutes." He said firmly, and clearly starting to get irritated.

You look down at the puppies wrestling on the floor and chewed on your lip. You took a deep breath and shook your head. "I'm sorry Tony but I just can't do that." You looked up to see the surprised written on his face.

It wasn't often, if ever, that you didn't do as Tony asked. He wore the pants in the relationship and you were okay with that, but his dislike of pets made you pass your cat to your brother when you had agreed to move in with Tony at the tower and that still bothered you.

"I'll just see if my brother still has that empty apartment and stay there until I can find someone to take them in." You said and moved to your closet. You pulled out a duffle and flopped it on the bed before filling it with various clothes. Tony remained silent as you packed and when you were almost done you heard him leave the room. You sighed and swung the bag over your shoulder and gathered the puppies in your arms again before leaving.

---

It had been four days since you left the tower and Steve had gotten ahold of you twice to make sure you didn't need anything. You considered texting Tony countless times but never found the nerve to do it. You didn't want to admit it, but you had a feeling your relationship was over.

You were laying on the bed reading while bundled in one of Tony's sweatshirts you had snagged from the closet. Your phone dinged beside you and one of the puppies started howling causing the other to startle beside you. You reached over ready to tell Steve you were fine when you saw Tony's name on the screen. You unlocked the screen and read the message.

So you're really going to
stay at the apartment now?

Until I find someone to take
The dogs. Yes.

You set the phone back down and looked at the two dogs. "What if I don't find homes for them?" You asked softly to yourself. Sure you always wanted to have a husky puppy, maybe not two, but you also loved Tony and didn't want to be away from him just because of some dogs.

Your phone dinged again.

I'm going on a mission in 3 days.

You sighed softly.

Okay.

There was no reply after that and you didn't know what else to say. You laid the phone back on the table and curled up to sleep.

---
You startled awake to both puppies howling and the doorbell ringing. You squinted at the alarm clock shocked to see it read one a.m. You rolled off the bed and shuffled to the front door, swinging it open just as Tony was about the push the bell again.

"For the love of God Tony it's one in the morning." You sigh and shiver. "And cold out, get in here." You stepped back and closed the door behind him. You turned and eyed him cautiously but didn't say anything.

"Y/n. I know I snapped the other day but I miss you and I don't want us fighting." He said it quickly which was a sign that he wasn't lying, and he was uncomfortable.

You looked down at the one pup who demanded attention from Tony and the other sitting at your feet. "Yeah well I missed you too but I'm just doing what you told me to do Tony." You pointed out gently.

"I get that but I want you back. With me." He said and looked down at the two dogs. "And if that means having two dogs at the tower, well, so be it." He shrugged and looked back at you.

You smiled softly, knowing this was nothing little for him to do. "You're awesome babe." You said and knelt down to the calmer of the two puppies. "This is Watson, and that attention getter is his brother, Sherlock." You smiled.

He chuckled. "Of course." He reached down and scratched behind Sherlock's ears.

"Now come on. I'm tired so let's just spend the night here." You said and started back the hall.

"Wait. Is that my sweatshirt?" He asked following you, but you never answered.
