Ann
The next morning I had awoke to the feeling of Negan's arm wrapped tightly around me. So much so I could barley breathe. "Negan." I whispered, trying to wrangle out of his grip but he was too strong.

"Negan." I repeated, hoping this time would wake him up. "What?" He groggily spat and didn't bother releasing his hold. "I gotta get up." He mumbled something and finally released me, turning over on his back. I stretched and looked around to see evidence of the night before. Memories came flooding back and I actually smiled thinking about the nice night we had. Negan put in some real effort and I had to give him points on that.

"Nice." I looked in the mirror and chuckled. I smelt like a winery and my hair was a mess. Or, at least more than usual. I poked my head out of the room to see Negan still asleep. I shimmied out of my wrinkled up dress and hopped into the shower. I turned the water on, smiling when the warm water hit my skin. I stood there for a moment, allowing the warmth to relax my muscles. I was too busy in the enjoyment of the shower to notice someone had come into the bathroom. "What the fuck!" I turned around to see a naked Negan behind me.

"Hi there." He smiled and I backed up into the shower. "Is privacy not allowed here?" I covered myself as best I could with my hands and he chuckled. "We're in the apocalypse, honey. Best to save on water." He leaned over to grab some soap and I looked down. "Oh," He smiled when he caught my glance. "Don't worry, just morning wood." He smirked and I rolled my eyes, getting out.

I shuffled through the bag he had given me from the Hilltop and went through the choices. Ultimately choosing a simple pair of jeans with a soft pullover and light jacket.

"You hungry?" Negan asked as he walked out of the bathroom and began getting dressed. "A little. I was thinking we could go out today so I could scavenge for some personal stuff. I don't know how long you plan on keeping me here and your book choices are crap." I rolled up the sleeve of my jacket and hung my hair in a ponytail. "Now why would you bother doing all that when we have everything you need here." He leaned himself against the dresser and looked at me puzzled.

"Because I'm not playing your First Lady while I sit here and have your men serve me with shit you're stealing from other communities. Dinner was one thing but don't expect that to happen often."

"Fine. I'm all out of liquor anyways." He began to get dressed and I smiled. A small win, but a win. "Don't forget this." Negan threw the red scarf at me and I decided to just put it on rather than argue. He lead me by the shoulders and I felt the sun on my skin and the sounds of snarling walkers in the distance.

"Wait." I grabbed his hand, turning my face towards his direction. "Your men...can they stay behind? Just this once?" I waited for an answer. "Why? Do you have your family waiting in the woods to attack me?"

"The last member of my group I saw was in bed, sick and pregnant. I haven't exactly had a chance to make an escape plan with them." He remained silent. "I just want it to be us." I blurted, not realizing I just said that. "If anything happens, Ann." Negan's voice was warning. "I promise, Negan. Nothing will happen." With that, he yelled out the window for his men to stay behind and we drove off. If Negan was going to change, he needed time away from his position as leader if I was ever going to get through to him.
