"Wait." I shouted and Negan looked at me, unsure of my sudden outburst. "Could you stop?" Putting the truck in park, Negan leant over, looking suspiciously towards me."Everything ok?" Negan questioned. I nodded and got out of the truck and ran over to a Walker who had been pinned from a heavy branch. The creature hissed hungrily with raised bony arms with skin that was hanging off its fingers. "I'm sorry this happened to you." I rammed the thick blade in its skull, the creatures attempt of contact immediately stopped.
"Ok, let's go." I breathed out and closed the door as Negan started the truck again and took off. "Like I said, too sappy for this world." He smiled and I shook her head. "And yet, you love it." I leant over the gear shift, to kiss his stubbled cheek. "I always have. It's one of your many good qualities." He reached out his hand and i entangled our fingers.
"This is nice. Even if we are in the apocalypse. It's nice just being with you." I smiled by his words "I know, I'm amazing."
"Ready?" Negan got out of the car and shut the door as he put the keys in his pocket.
"All set." I jumped out of the seat and shut the door, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "I just can't wait to see, Maggie!" I beamed with excitement at the thought. "I hope she's ok." Negan put a hand on my shoulder and i smiled, looking at him. "She better, because if her or the baby got hurt from the trauma you caused, I will cut your nuts off, blend them, and then force feed them to you." I smiled sweetly and patted him on the back before leaving him behind.
"Negan, has it been a week already?" The leader, Gregory walked up to meet us at the gate.
"That it has. And I've been counting every second till I could see you again." Negan grinned and I rolled my eyes. When you don't know any other side to Negan expect for his sarcastic one, those comments can get quite annoying. I didn't waste a second before I bolted past the gate and began to make my way to the main house of the community with one person in mind. I couldn't wait to see her.
"Hi." I smiled at Jesus. We had only met once or twice in the past but he seemed like a decent guy.
"Do you have any idea if Maggie is still here?""I'm afraid she isn't here anymore. After she got the green light from Dr Carson, her and Glenn headed back to Alexandria." I sighed in relief. I was sad I didn't get to see her, but overjoyed to know she and the baby were alright. "Thank you." I smiled and hugged him quickly.
"I don't know if Negan is going to try and take anything. But if I can't talk him out of it," I slung the extra bag I brought with me and handed it to him.
"It's just a mix of food and other stuff." He smiled and thanked me."You're sick friend alive?" Negan raised an eyebrow as he walked over to me. He was leant against the wall of the main house with the bat slung over his shoulder. "Yes, thank God." He nodded and I began walking to the truck. "You aren't going to spend a little longer with her?" Negan followed close behind.
"No, she went back to Alexandria." I slightly frowned, looking back at him. As I threw my bag in the truck and got in, shutting the door behind me. Negan followed suit and got in, starting the vehicle.
"Sorry you didn't get to see your friend."
"Sorry you didn't get to annoy the residents of Hilltop longer than you expected." I smiled and he returned the expression. I was staring out the window, watching the trees and smiling to myself. Maggie's baby was ok! And I couldn't stop smiling. "Oh, let's just go see her and your little family." Negan looked at me and I raised an eyebrow. "Why, didn't get enough from Hilltop?" I smirked and he huffed out a frustrated sigh.
"Look, I know you will be pouting all day. I know how badly you want to see her. Them." He finished, keeping his eyes on the road.
I smiled and leaned up to kiss his cheek. "You're learning." I chuckled and he faintly smiled as he turned up the radio. "Like I said, don't get used to it."
After some time, Negan stopped the truck and I was home. I couldn't describe how happy that I was not only going to see Maggie, but my whole family as well. "Please, no smart ass comments or bully tactics." I took on a more stern tone with Negan and he laughed, rebuffing my warning.
"Now you are asking for too much there, sweetie." He grabbed the bat and jumped out of the car as I grabbed my bag and stepped out.
Negan was about to hit the gate with his bat but I stopped him. "How about I announce us?" He smiled at me and I knocked on the gate. "Rick? Maggie?" I called out and heard the gate began to open.
"Please, be good." I looked over at Negan and he smiled, putting his glove covered hand up. "I am good, it's Anastasia who's the stickler here." He lightly shook the bat and I rolled my eyes. "How about renaming that thing."
He went to lean down and kiss me but I stopped him. "They don't know you're my husband and they won't find out today, either." I quickly said and before he could answer, Rick stood in front of us .
