At home with the kids

"Laur, Julie is here,are you sure you're going to be okay?" You spoke, holding the front door open.

Your work colleague was waiting on the driveway, as you often carpooled to work. Clara would usually be on hand to help with your kids, however she was on vacation with Mike. So, Lauren was staying home with your three children by herself. The pair of you had two 4 year old twin daughters, Ella and Madison, and a ten month old son called Jackson.

"Babe." Lauren said, kissing you quickly. "Don't worry okay? We're going to be fine."

"Okay, i'll be home in a few hours."

"Okay baby."..."Kids! Say bye to mommy"

"Buh bye mommy!"..."bye bye mommy!" The twins chirped, hugging your legs.

You bent down and placed a kiss on both of their heads, "Bye babies, I love you, be good for momma." You told them and they nodded, before running back to play.

"And I love you, I do little man." You cooed to your son, he kicked his legs happily in response.

"And I love you my queen." You whispered, pressing a tender kiss against Lauren's lips. She smiled into the kiss and then you both pulled back.

Julie was smiling at you both from her car, so you grabbed your laptop bag and headed down the driveway.

"Bye babe!" Lauren hollered from the doorway and you smiled.

"Bye Laur!"

Lauren closed the front door once you had driven down the street, and adjusted Jackson on her hip. The brunette entered the living room to see your two girls playing.

"Come on then, breakfast time kiddo's"..."What would you like today?" She added, walking into the kitchen with them both following behind.

"Pancakes!" They squealed and your wife nodded, before grabbing the batter mix and a pan.

She followed the instructions, then your son started to become unsettled and put his hand in his mouth.

"Is little man hungry too?" She cooed, kissing the top of his head and then preparing some baby porridge for him.

She turned the stove on for the pancakes and then put Jackson in his highchair. The girls were sat at the table, drawing and generally entertaining themselves as they waited for their breakfast.

As she was feeding the baby, Lauren left the pancake batter in the pan to cook. However, she had put the gas on a bit too high, so a burning smell started to fill the house.

She turned in her chair, to see lots of smoke and your daughters jumping up and down.

"Momma! Momma!"..."it's burning!" They exclaimed in panic, as Lauren jumped up from her seat.

"Shoooot!"..."mija's get behind me." She said, ushering your daughters to get behind her.

The singer quickly turned the stove off and opened the nearest window, managing to get rid of some of the smoke. "Everyone good?"

Ella and Madison nodded, then your son giggled from his place in his highchair, making Lauren smile lovingly.

She put her hands on each of your daughter's shoulders and looked down to them. "Come on, we'll go out and buy some breakfast."

"Okay momma." They replied in sync, running as fast as their little legs could carry them to grab their shoes.

Whilst the girls were doing that, Lauren walked over to your son, now covered in the porridge that he had dipped his hands into.

"Momma's so silly Jax." She cooed, kissing the top of your sons head.

"Right kids, let's go." Lauren said with a sigh of relief. She had managed to clean your son up with wipes, co ordinate the twins shoes and get them all into the car without any fuss.

The brunette turned in the drivers seat to look at your three children in the back. Jackson was in his car seat, and your daughters were sat at either side of him.

"Seat belts?" She asked.

The twins nodded and grinned. "Yep."..."yep."

"Baby bag?"

She looked to the passenger seat to see his bag and smiled. "Check."..."Let's gooooo!"

With that, she reversed out of the driveway and onto the street, when her ringtone filled the car. She had hooked her phone up to the car, so she pressed the receive button and your voice came from the speakers.

"Hey baby!"..."kids, say hi to mommy!"

"Mommy!"..."Mommy hi!" They squealed, making you grin at their cuteness.

"Hi my babies."..."How you getting on Lo?"

"Great baby-"

"Momma! There was nearly a fire." Ella admitted and you opened your eyes wide, and gasped.

"What?!" You practically screamed.

Lauren was quick to reply before you had a heart attack. "All under control babes."..."I overestimated the pancakes."..."it's all good though." She reassured.

"No one got hurt right?!"

"Nope baby, we're all good. We've decided to go out for breakfast."

"Okay honey, well have fun! I miss you but i'll be home soon."

"We miss you too mommy" Ella spoke and it made your heart melt.

"i'll be home soon darlings, okay? I gotta go now, my boss needs me, but i'll see you soon."..."Look after momma girls."

Lauren chuckled at your joke and spoke up. "I got this boo."
