Do you know the feeling of when you are certain you forgot something, but you have no idea what? Clary has walked around with that feeling for a few days now, but the answer hasn't popped up in her mind yet. It has been a week, well five days, and still no word from Jace nor Izzy. She has texted them both but no replies. She has called them several times, but no answer. Cars didn't work in Idris, maybe neither did phones.

Clary hasn't been even close to the institute those past five days. She knew she couldn't stay away forever, she needed to train and learn all these things like 'the history of our race, half angel half human'. Clary wondered every now and then why she would ever need that killing a demon.. Like: hi there Achaierai demon, in 1786 there was a huge nest of your relatives, other Achaierai demons who murdered half the shadowhunter population because it was located near Alicante. Maybe you where there too? Oh by the way this seraph blade is made by the Silent Sisters, and blah blah. Some parts were interesting, ha who was she kidding. It was ridiculously boring, mostly because Izzy, Jace and Alec didn't have these lessons anymore. They finished it all when they were fifteen.

Shadowhunter education is till 16, in Idris the shadowhunter go to a shadowhunter school in Alicante once they're four years old. It's not like the mundane system, but there are two schools: a primary one and the secondary school. The children who got raised in institutes get educated at home. So when Izzy arrived in Idris she still has to go to 'school'. Izzy was in her last year, which was weird because at the same time it was also her first year. The classes weren't very interesting and for her quite easy because the most of it, Hodge already taught them. The school year was already halfway when they came here, everyone basically knew each other and Izzy hadn't really managed to fit in yet. Jace refused to go to any school, saying that experience was the best teacher. He wasn't doing anything else mean while. He ate, he slept, and he trained alone. A lot of girls noticed the boy with the golden eyes, something Jace would made a lot of sassy comments about a year ago.. Now he didn't really see the blinking girls. Izzy tried to make friends, but everyone was bitchy and girly. The boys all looked like 12 year olds, and acted like that. Maryse was busy with who knows what.

Her stupid phone couldn't send messages or call, maybe because she was in a country that didn't exist according to this mundane device. Izzy might have thrown it into one of these canals. The mundane society in Alicante, was something she didn't know very well. She had always been with only her family and she had always felt better than all the mundane, but here she was just ordinary. Isabelle Lightwood didn't want to be ordinary. And there must be a way to contact Clary without her phone, and Izzy was determined to find a way before her friend makes her own portal to come to Idris and ends up in Lake Lynn again.

Let's skip a few days.. Let's say it's three weeks since the Lightwoods left:

Thanks to Luke, Clary is finally allowed to go to Idris for a few days, three to be exact. Jia Penhallow contacted the Clave for her so she could get there by portal safely. None of the Lightwoods know that she's coming. Even Alec hasn't heard a thing from his family. It worries her, and Simon. He wanted to come so badly but he has school and vampires aren't really allowed in Alicante, it didn't work out very well the last time he went there. Alec and Magnus are on their trip, to who knows where. But at least they have a decent working phone. She looks back at her mom and best friend once just before she steps into her own made portal, hoping she doesn't have to swim this time.

Jace is trying to participate, even though all the girls are very annoying. It's not his fault that he's so hot. Jace has the corridor room, the one he shared with Alec their last visit. Someone knocks on the door, no way that Jace is the one opening it. After a few minutes there is a knock again so Jace opens the door of his room, just to yell: "Izzy open the door, and tell them I'm not here." A swear is the answer he gets. Jace walks back into his room, he doesn't even care who that could possibly be.

Jace was getting on her nerves, she was trying to make something of her life here. He should try at least a little bit. Izzy opened the door and no one was there. She was about to close it when she saw some fiery red hair walking in the opposite direction of the house. That couldn't be. Or could it be?

She ran and yelled: "Clary!?" The red hair stopped moving, and turned around with a bright smile.

"Izzy," she said while hugging. "I thought no one was home." "What are you doing here?" Izzy asked. Clary laughed. "Surprise." Together they walked back to the house, while Izzy told Clary about the past ten days here. Not that much happened, but that didn't matter. Still chatting they got a drink and sat down. Clary looking around for any sign of, "he's upstairs," Izzy broke her thoughts. "Do you mind if I," Clary replied, pointing at the stairs. Izzy nodded. While her friend flew up the stairs, she sat back in the couch. Well, she might see Clary later.

The one who knocked, actually had come in. Jace stated from what he heard. He hoped it was a friend of Izzy, it would be nice if she got some friends here. One pair of footsteps came running up stairs. A hesitation before the footsteps walked the second stairs, the ones that lead to his room. It wasn't Izzy, or Maryse. Jace would recognize those footsteps. A knock on his door. "What," he snapped. "Can I come in?" the owner of the footsteps asked. That made Jace jump up.

The door flew open, and behind that was a startled Jace. Clary smiled and said: "surprise." Oh how much she had missed his arms around her. She looked up and kissed him. She had missed his lips and his golden eyes. "I missed you," she whispered. "Why didn't you text me back?" Jace eyes leave Clary's for a second and wander to something right in the middle of the room, a phone or at least what's left of it. Before Clary could say anything again, Jace kissed her again. After what seemed like ages he first said something: "I missed you too."

Izzy didn't see her friend till dinner, when she and Jace appeared hand in hand smiling. They made plans for tomorrow and tonight, when Clary suddenly froze. Izzy was the first to notice; "Clary, you okay?" All her blood had left her face, which made her hair even redder. When Jace shook the shoulders of his girlfriend, asking if she was okay, Izzy wanted to laugh at the obvious déjà vu. "Hmm, yeah fine," Clary mumbled as a reply. Jace kept staring at her worriedly, that boy could be so overprotective sometimes. "Everyone finished?" Maryse asked. Clary nodded, and turned to Izzy giving her a look. They understood each other, well almost perfectly. "Come on, Clary. I want to show you something," Izzy said. Jace, determined not to leave his girlfriends side, didn't look particularly happy with that suggest. Clary just squeezed his hand and kissed him on his check, "I won't leave or die, see you in a minute." Jace just sighed and let it go, that minute was just a metaphor. He stood up to help Maryse. "Yeah, sure."

"Tell me what's on your mind, Fray." They both sat down on Izzy's bed. "I think it's false alarm anyways," Clary started, still looking a bit pale. "Just spit it out, we don't have all night. Jace wants you back soon enough." Clary stares at her hands, not knowing where to start. "Come on Fray, from the beginning."

But Clary didn't start at the beginning, she starts right in the middle: "Yesterday morning I was feeling a bit sick and all, this morning again and throwing up and all. I thought it was from the nerves and I was very excited to see you again. Plus the day before yesterday Luke cooked dinner and I'm sure that was too raw. I have this feeling I forgot something and suddenly, during dinner it hit me. It might be nothing but-"

Izzy didn't give Clary the chance to finish, and yelled: "YOU'RE PREGNANT?!" "Izzy, shut it damnit. Nothing is sure yet." Izzy just grinned, and said; "well let's just get things sure then." A bit uncertain Clary asked; "right now? I mean it's just a thought I could be overreacting." "Come on, Fray."

"Where are we going?" Clary asked while she was dragged to through the streets of Alicante. They had shouted a quick excuse towards Jace before they left. "Getting things clear," Izzy replied. "Don't you have a rune for that?" Clary asked, the color has returned to her face a bit. "No Clary, we're getting a preg-nan-cy test for you," Izzy said, saying that one word very slowly. "So," Izzy went on. "You two-" Clary broke her of; "yes, now shut up about it." Izzy pouted and said; "aren't you gonna tell me all 'bout it?" "No, he's your brother Iz," a blushing Clary said. "Aww come on." "Well," Clary started.

Jace had no idea what was going on. Clary and Izzy had run out and later came back. Clary had run upstairs, avoiding his look. Izzy had stayed for a second to reassure him that everything was okay but she didn't look very convinced. With a silent rune Jace slowly walked upstairs, to Izzy's door. "What do I do now?" That was obviously Clary's voice. Jace opens the door, still unnoticed by the girls. "Okay, Okay." That was Clary again. "Jace?" Clary says, she noticed her boyfriend standing behind the half opened door. "Are you sure you are okay?" he asks. "Just leave me alone for a minute," she replied.

Izzy interrupted, and said to Clary; "maybe you should tell him already, Clary." "Tell him what?" Jace and Clary said in sync. Clary sighed, and walked up to Jace. For a second she allowed herself to get lost in his embrace. Then she gently pushed him out of the door; "go down stairs, please. We're coming." Then she closed the door and walked into Izzy's bathroom.

Before Jace walked down the stairs, he heard the bathroom door open again, and then he heard Izzy ask: "And? What does it say?" Jace had no idea what this was all about, and he didn't hear what his girlfriend answered to Izzy's question. All he knew was that he didn't know if he should be worried or not.
