Shadowhunters have their own amazing way of traveling, they have institutes all over the world where they can stay. Perks of being a shadowhunter, right? As a shadowhunter you also have your responsibilities, not something you want to be tied to your vacation.

Jace screams into his pillow, he was so close to getting her back.

Clary was the first one to suggest to stay in a mundane hotel instead of at the London institute. Her arguments? Nothing job, education or responsibilities related during vacation.

Jace got up, ridges of his pillow marked face. He hadn't cried though, not yet.

While the girls were planning their trip, idea after idea came up. Finally they decided to have a fully mundane vacation. No portals, no institutes, no weapons. Or at least, almost no weapons. Izzy took her stele and sneaked a few weapons through the security.

Jace curses at the stupid mundanes, he never liked any of them.

Yesterday morning the two girls took the plane, from a city in France to London, the way back is planned to go by plane, but not everything went like they planned.

It had been all over the mundane news, something that wasn't available on television here in Idris. But Simon saw, not thinking anything else then the usual "their poor families." Untill he got a call from a slightly worried Jace, no one has heard from Izzy nor Clary since they got on their plane yesterday. Simon did a bit of research, and the answer was nothing he liked. That plane crash somewhere between France and London, so much victims it even reached the american news, was their plane. Izzy and Clary got in a plane crash. The headlines were very clear: no survivers found yet.

The engine caught fire, turbulence, no survivors, crashed into a forest, no survivors, wild fire, disaster, no survivors yet.

It was all Jace remembered, it was all he wanted to know. It was all he needed to know. Even if they survived the burning plane, even if they survived the plane crashing on the ground, there was a tiny chance they survived a whole freaking forest on fire. Jace is pretty hopeless. It has been almost 24 hours since the crash, if there were any survivors someone should have found them by now. His Clary is strong and Izzy is one of the best shadowhunters of her age, present tense. But it doesn't really matter anymore. Jace can't think about their burned bodies, he'll break down sooner or later. And right now he can't do that because he has to be there for Maryse, who isn't coping very well. Some help of her husband Robert is in no way expected. Jace is taking Maryse back to New York where some rest and old friends like Pia Penhallow and her son might do her good. If anything can do her good, losing a child is horrible but losing two in less than a year is nearly unbearable.

Two weeks later

Jace and Simon are sort of in the same situation, they both lost their girlfriend and they both lost their sister. It wasn't by blood, but blood is no guarantee of love. The remains of the stupid plane were almost fully taken care of, almost all the victems indetified. No sign of Izzy, no sign of Clary. Jace is a solid grumpy rock, not showing his pain. Simon is, let's say he's hopefull. A naïve hopefull puppy. Alec defined it as: their way of grieving. If you really paid attention, you could've noticed that Alec's clothes were slouchier than usual, than before his sister got on that plane. Magnus wanted to be there for his boyfriend, but Alec didn't really let him.

These four were now at Taki's, having dinner. It was tense and silent when suddenly Simon's phone beeped. His face lights up when he takes out his phone, while he explained to the questioning faces; "I thought, what if they had missed the plane?" Alec groans when he sees Jace getting his hopes up too. "It has been two weeks, guys. Don't you think they might have answered their phone? Or left a little message like, not dead xo." But Simon has thought about this; "maybe they got on the wrong plane, got lost and are still trying to book a ticket for their journey back." Alec simply says: "message." Simon opened the message, a little less excited. Simon read out loud:
