Hellboy OC Insert

More than one

I stormed into the hospital, ready to slam one of the nurses against the wall and force her to tell me where my sister in law was. But that turned out to be unnecessary, I was able to find her by her screaming alone. She was clutching onto the sides of her bed, her hair was up in flames and her face was scrunched up with pain. She ganced at me and then screamed,

" WHERE THE HELL IS RED? I NEED HIM!"

Rushing over to her I grabbed her hand, wincing as she squeezed the shit out of my hand. For a second I thought of how much pain she was in but then she let out another scream. Turning to the nearest nurse I shouted,

" Get her some damn morphine! Unless you want a foot shoved up your ass get moving!"

The fear in her eyes was real and that got her moving. Liz tugged on my hand and then said,

" Ellie I was told I wasn't just going to have one baby...I'm going to have two."

Oh lord this was going to be fantastic! Then Liz let out another scream, where in the hell was that nurse? Within two minutes Liz had gotten the shot and then we got her into a delivery room. I held her hand the whole time, nearly ripping the head off of one doctor for suggesting that I would leave, but I wasn't having it. I was there for my sister and I sure as hell wasn't going to leave. It wasn't until Liz was crowing with the first child did Red burst into the room. He took one look at Liz then me, full on knowing I wasn't moving, went to the free hand. Liz grasped it and then let out a scream. The baby she was pushing out must have a head the size of a watermelon. Then she stopped screaming and there was a cry. The baby was here, the doctors went to work quickly, taking the baby and cleaning it then swaddling it. Then it was placed in a travel crib. No way were they going to show off half demon babies in the nursery. Then the screaming started up again as Liz started to push. This time the baby came quicker than the first. This time I caught site of what it was. A baby girl. Liz was huffing as she tried to sit up, but Red put a hand on her shoulder.

" Babe, wait so that they clean and fix you up."

She nodded, then let go of my hand, glancing at me. Her eyes told me to go get her children. Walking over to the cribs I saw that both were wrapped tightly. One was a light red with fuzzy black hair, the other was pale and with no hair, but it did have little nubs on its forehead. Looking at the labels on the crib I let out a chuckle. Twin girls. This was going to be one hell of a ride when they got older. Picking them both up I walked over to the two proud parents,

" Congrats you two, twin girls."

Liz glanced up at Red who looked like he was walking on cloud nine. Handing the light red one to Liz and the pale one to Red I watched as they both cooed at the girls. Wanting to give them some space I headed out of the room to sit in the waiting room. But when I got there I was surprised to see Abe sitting there with a book in hand and Johann was standing there looking out the window. They both looked over as I walked over to Abe, slitting on the arm of the chair as I announced,

" Two healthy baby girls. Both parents look like they are walking on Cloud nine."

Johonn nodded his head while Abe wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me onto his lap. Resting my head on Abe's shoulder I let out a sigh, my small family was growing and it was fantastic. Closing my eyes I let myself relax more, knowing that whatever happens when those babies get home no one was going to be getting sleep. Unless I got some earplugs before hand...hmm I know what Im going to do before going home tonight. I liked my sleep thank you.

" You have the most interesting mind, something I love about you."

Smiling I turned my head and kissed him on his cheek,

" Same goes for you, want me to get you noise cancelling headphones while I get the earplugs?"

He shook his head and then whispered,

" I rather stay up and talk to you all night, if you don't mind and besides, we never did get to finish our swim."

Oh lord did I love this man.

-time skip three weeks-

I snickered at Red, who just poured orange into some cereal. He glanced up and glanced back down and muttered something along of the lines crap then took a bite anyways.

" You disgust me."

I said, taking a sip of my coffee. Abe had tried to get me to cut back but I had said I refused to swim if I did. That got him to leave my and my coffee alone. Pulling my hair up I tied it up into a sloppy bun with a sigh. I was repainting the workout room to be a room for little Bella. Her older sister May's room was going to be a pale purple while hers was a pale blue. I already finished with May's and was going to finish up Bella's today. It was a little something from Auntie Ellie. Standing up I patted Red's shoulder and headed upstairs to where their rooms were. For now they were in the small office room next to Red's and Liz's room so that it would be easier to get to them when they cried but when they were older we knew they would want their own rooms. Walking into Bella's I saw that Abe was standing there with a paintbrush in hand. He had blue paint all over which was almost funny. It was a completely different color than his skin so it stood out quite a bit. Walking over to Abe I wrapped myself around him, nuzzling into his chest. He chuckled and then hugged back. Pulling away I grabbed a paint brush and got to work, humming as I did so. It was a simple tune I had heard on the radio but it was a good one. It was relaxing, the calm motion of painting and the just knowing how life was going to be easier now that we no longer worked for the B.P.R.D. Life was getting good. Feeling a hand on my shoulder I saw that Liz was smiling big,

" Ellie, Abe this looks amazing! Thank you two so much!"

Smiling back I shrugged,

" It's fun to do. I'm kinda thinking of repainting my room when I get done with this. Maybe a nice purple color. How are the girls doing?"

Liz nodded and grinned even more,

" They are amazing, they both just went down for a nap after I fed them though I think Red might need a nap as well. I just walked in on Red eating cereal with orange juice instead of milk. He has been working nonstop on fixing up the house, and he finished setting up the swingset, sandbox and the inground pool. Oh and he said Abe its freshwater so its not going to bother you when you swim in it. So when this is done we just need to put in the furniture and the toys...."

She trailed off, probably thinking about more about what to do. Without saying another word she walked out of the room, biting on her thumb nail. Shaking my head at her I got back to painting, only to realize that we were done. Abe had finished it while Liz was talking. Turning to him I shot him a smile and he griined

" We never did get to finish our swim...want to finish it?"

He then sent me a mental picture and I started to turn red. God I loved him.

" Last one there is a thousand year egg!"

I said, catching him off guard and tossing my paintbrush onto the plastic wrap and darting out of the room. Yup, life was going to be so much better now that all that hell was over.
