New power

Walking around the bed I smiled as Rose was bouncing around holding onto her bear. She grinned,

" Mama mama mama mama mama!"

She chanted, hopping around a bit then fell back, holding her bear up in the air. Climbing into the bed I grabbed her and started to tickle her, her laughter was like music to my ears.

" Rosey Rose. Mama loves youuuu!"

I cooed, throwing her up into the air and held her up, her grin was big. But when I put her down she turned, looking right at the door. Abe peeked his head in the door with a cautious look.

" Daddy!"

How the hell did she know that? She jumped down and ran over to him. I sat up, crossing my legs and glared at him. He picked up Rose and tossed her up in the air. That was my thing...

" Mommy come play!"

She squealed as she went back up into the air. I looked away, pouting slightly.

" No thank you Baby. Mommy needs a cup of coffee...Play with Daddy."

Getting up I walked past them, sending Abe a look before heading up the stairs. Everyone has learned to keep coffee at the ready for me, so as I walked up the stairs I felt a tap on my mental barrier.

" WHat was that look for?"

" I do that with her! You spent a great deal of time away from her, leaving the day after she was born! What gives you the right to steal my thing?"

" Wow, I thought we were past this?"

" No! I'm hurt damn it! I missed you. You try to act like things will be the same when you get back. It's not fair! She took to you in an instant. It just...it sucks. I missed you and it just...damn you Abe I still love you!"

" Took you long enough to say it."

" Shut up fishman and play with your kid."

" Yes Mom."

" Fuck you Abe."

" Maybe later, wait till she is asleep."

What a horny fishman.

-time skip-

" Well Liz and Red are going to laugh at us."

I grumbled, covering my face with a pillow as I realized what time it was. Pool Rose though her mom was leaving her to fend for herself. Getting up I was about to grab my pj pants but Abe wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me back to the bed.

" I got up about an hour ago and gave her breakfast and put on her favorite cartoon. She will be okay. Come back to bed with me...I missed you."

His voice went deep but his fingers were soft as they traced a pattern in my side. I started to laugh as his fingers dug in, tickling me. This went on for a few moments before I swatted his hands away.

" I have to go see my daughter, she is only almost a year old, She might be growing fast but she is still my little baby."

He grunted, but this time didn't stop me from getting dressed. Without turning around I headed out of my room. We had moved poor Rose to May's room for the night, saying mommy needed to talk to daddy. Walking up the steps I heard the sound of her crime show come on. She was hooked on Law and Order, which was a good show.

" Hi Mama!"

She said, her eyes leaving the tv and her face split into a huge grin.

" You and Daddy all better?"

I nodded, picking her up and setting her on my lap. Usually we watched tv together so this wasn't new. Abe walked in a few minutes later, he was holding two mugs of coffee, in which he handed one to me with a smile.

" My two girls. I was surprised when Rose told me what her favorite tv show was but she seemed happy when I put it on. Weren't you?"

She nodded, but her eyes went back to the tv.

" What do you think is going to happen if Red and Liz come home and see we are back together?"

" They wouldn't care. Red was joking about not knocking you up again. He told me to not give up before he left. So...kinda already got his blessing."

" We are a really fucked up family."

" Mommy, don't set you mug down..."

I glanced at Rose, she was turning a pale blue color, her voice was shaking.

" Rose?"

I set the mug down only for it to fall to the ground. Blinking at Rose the back at the mug. What in the world...

" Mama! I told you don't!"

Her face had returned to normal, but she was giving me a sad look.

" That was your favorite mug."

She said, her lip sticking out. Looks like she didn't completely take after her parent's she had her own abilities. Glancing over at Abe I saw that he was grinning, he reached over and pulled her over onto his lap.

" My big girl, showing off how amazing she is."

He cooed, in that moment, I realized. I was wrong to be so cruel to him. He loved us, and I knew he didn't leave by his own choice, it was for our Rose. It was for the little girl who was going to shape our world in new fantastic ways. Maybe when she was a bit older we could have another, because this man is the one who, no matter what happens, I would spend the rest of my supernatural life with.

" Mama, you need to hurry up. Uncle Red and Liz are on their way home!"

Nodding I got up, walking over to the kitchen and grabbing a towel, this new ability was going to be fun and a bit tricky to figure out but I guess that's how she new Abe was coming home. I needed to trust her word more often.

" WE'RE HOME!"
