The bear named Pooh

For the next four hours I kept getting a sneaky looks from Liz and Hellboy, so naturally my face was the color of a tomato, which wasn't very pleasant. May and Bell were excitedly talking about their small trip, which they had to cut it short because of the bad weather coming in.

" So how long did it take you to get her to go back into bed with you Abe? Ten, fifteen minutes? I always knew my little sister had no backbone."

Oh he was going to get it, I was going to take every damn beer he buys and pour vinegar into it. Every chocolate that he buys will now be taken by me and eaten with no remorse. He will feel paiiiiin.

" Going back to your silly mental rants?"

" Yep, along with telling you to shush."

" That's not what you said at all last night."

" Abraham!"

" Eleanor, we are both consenting adults, why are you acting like it's such a huge scandal?"

" Because....because I can that's why. I went almost an entire year, I have the right to act the way I do. Screw you for poking at me."

" I did that already, several times."

" I hate you so damn much."

" No you don't."

" Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Yes."

"NO"

"Ha."

"Damn you Abe!"

I felt something hit my face and I blinked back into reality. Red was standing there, a grin on his face as he shifted his eyes between Abe and myself.

" Can I-"

" Shut up if you know what's good for you. I am going to my room. Abe feed Rose her lunch I need to lay down. AnD I WILL NOT BE JOINED BY ANYONE OTHER THAN MY TEDDY BEAR NAMED POOH."

My mood was already not good, I needed a cool down moment before I either rip out someone's spleen or jump his bones. Whichever comes first. I loved Abe but How in the world did he get so annoying or just more confident.

" Your mind is still quite loud. I am gaining the courage to be a better man for you and our daughter. And I couldn't mind being jumped at all. The only reason I say no now is because it's the middle of the day and you are actually quite drained. Now go to sleep Ellie, I will be down in a bit with some fresh coffee."

"...I love you Abe. Promise me."

" Promise what?"

His voice took on a quiet tone, he wanted me to say it. Flopping on my bed I grabbed a pillow, hugging it close as I closed my eyes.

" Promise me that you won't leave again. I don't think I could take it if you did. I feel like I lost you over and over everyday. I love you and I just don't want to go through that again...I'm sorry...I'm a greedy person. I had loved you for so long before I was able to call you mine and it's so rotten of me to even think I can tell you what to do. I'm sorry Abe."

He didn't say anything, but it was pointless to do so, I was already slipping into sleep as I heard a small squeak, but it wasn't enough to wake me back up. So I went to sleep.

I woke up to the smell of coffee, rolling over I glanced at the nightstand to see my old mug that Abe had gotten me back when we worked for the Bureau, the one that Manning had temporarily contaminated. Sitting up I grabbed it, happy that I had coffee right there when I woke up. Just like before he left. Taking a long drink I savored the moment of peace.

" Feel better Eleanor?"

Abe's voice was quiet, as he walked into my room. Nodding I patted the space next to me, then went back to drinking the coffee, holding the mug with both hands to feel it's warmth.

" Ellie...I won't leave you. I didn't want to leave you or our daughter in the first place. I wanted to stay and be here for every little step that our daughter took. Now I don't even know her favorite book to read, which I found out is a book way beyond most children's comprehension and she is so much like you it's something I wish I could have seen. I wish I was here for her first steps, her first word and everything. But I wasn't, I was away because Manning had a favor owed. I wish I was here for her beginning but I will not leave you or her again. I will be here for her when she fights to go out into the world, I will be there to pick her up from school if she can go. I will fight the boy she will bring home. I will tease her as she waits to be picked up for prom. I will always be here. Always. I will be here for you when you cry when Rose leaves us for the first time to live on her own. I will not leave you ever again. Because I realized that during my time away from you that I was away from my soul mate. The only person ever for me. You are the light that lets me see, you are the air that lets me breathe. I love you Eleanor Broom and i never want to let you go."

By the time he was finished I was crying, setting the mug down and covering my face, trying to breathe as I took in what he had said. His arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me onto his lap. Rubbing my back as I cried. After a moment I stopped crying, still sniffing as I looked at him.

" Dumb fishman."

" Stupid Demon."

He said, but there was no hate, only love. I buried my face in his chest as I breathed in his familiar scent. His hand was still rubbing my back, it was calming.

" I love you too Abe...please just hold me."

He pulled me closer, so that there wasn't anything separating us.

" I have an idea...Red and Liz have two...we have one. Do you want to make it four?"

His voice went deep, but I felt nothing but love. If we did it would have been nothing but love. Rose was made from love and hope...so why not another one?

" As long as you tell Red to watch Rose. then lock your door then mine. She may have a fantastic mental understanding but she is only a little over a year...let's not scar her yet."

He chuckled, sliding me off of his lap, but not without pressing a kiss to my forehead. Then he walked out of my room with a spring in his step.

" God I love him, please never take him away from me again. I wouldn't be able to live without him."

"Smert' Prinosyashchiy I Ogon' just you wait...your love will always be tested, just as Anung Un Rama's will be...you have been warned."

Fucking angel of death, ruining my mood...eh not really.
