Can't smile without you

-Abe's pov-

We were all at the B.P.R.D Building, all waiting for why Eleanor was in such pain. They were sitting there on the couch while I was in the chair, sitting tight, my fingers digging into my legs, they weren't telling us anything and Rose couldn't see anything at all. So it was a waiting game, and it was one that none of us wanted to play. When I heard footsteps coming down the hall I looked to see Manning. His face was full of concern, so it was apparent that something was wrong.

" Blue, She and the twins are going to be fine, but the problem is they are growing too fast for her body to handle. They tore some part of her inside that caused her body to partially shut down. They got her stable but they advise that she stays here till the girls are due."

My breath caught, twin girls. Well hell.

"Looks like it runs in the family. Girls."

Red was trying to cheer me up, but I wasn't feeling it. The love of my life was going to be stuck in a place where we all fought hard to leave, but no matter how hard we tried, they were like a thorn in our side. It was so infuriating that they just wouldn't leave us alone.

" Daddy, Mama is going to be okay...right?"

Rose was pulling on my hand, her small fingers were tight as her blue eyes looked up at me, they reflected my own fear. Picking her up and holding her close was all I could do. I didn't know the answer to her question, time would tell if Eleanor will pull through with our girls, or... the thought that tried to enter my head was one that I refused to even fully form. Eleanor Brooming was one of the strongest people that I knew, she was going to pull through this, no matter what.

-Ellie-

I woke up to the sound of beeping, which by the tenth beep I was annoyed. Opening my eyes I saw that I was in the B.P.R.D medical room. Well one of them. Putting a hand to my stomach I felt the slight bump, but it had grown since I last felt it. How was that even possible? Trying to sit up only to find that the pain in my side prevented me from doing so. I should have been healed by now.

" The rapid growth of your children is causing you to tear. We were able to fix it, but you will have to be careful and rest for the most part. You will also stay here until your children are born. It is for the best."

Some random ass nurse was walking around, moving some medical equipment, her eyes darted over at me and she scoffed.

" Director Manning was very insistent that you were taken care of. He says he owes you. In my opinion anyone of you things shouldn't be allowed to breed. Its unholy and disgusting. But that's none of my concern, now is it?"

This woman was rude. I was allowed to do as I pleased, to hell with her and her ideals. I was getting out of here. Grabbing the plastic bed rail with a grip that had my knuckles turn white, I pulled myself up. Biting my lip hard as pain shot across me again. The bitch's eyes widened in horror as my feet hit the ground. My legs were shaky, but I wasn't going down without at least scaring the shit out of the woman. Slowly making my way over her eyes grew, until I was almost looking up at her. Poking her I growled,

" Don't fucking say that we are unholy. I have saved this god forsaken planet more times than you have been alive. You don't have a single idea what I have done. Now I'm leaving. So don't even think that you can tell me what to do."

Then I shoved her away from me, smiling at her labored breathing. But when I swayed around, not being able to get to my feet I let out a moan. Why can't I just have a relatively normal pregnancy? Then I blacked out again, knowing that I was going to get an earful for getting up.

I narrowed my eyes at Eleanor. She was curled up, arms around her belly and eyes closed. She was asleep, but according to the nurse she had gotten up and threatened one of the ones who were fired. Her silver hair was in a messy bun and her breathing was normal once again. A song popped into my head that I had sung with Red when I was obsessed with Nuala.

Ellie moved and her eyes fluttered open. Smiling at me she reached for her hand.

" Love you too Blue."

She whispered, then she fell back asleep. 

A/N: Thank you for being there for me and okay with the fact that I haven't updated since who knows when.  I know the feeling when you go to read a book and see that is hasn't been updated in forever and you are enterally screaming inside. But things have been going on and I found the time to write a bit, even if it was a short chapter.  Just a little update, I am less than 5 months away from moving out, graduating and going to be seeing my little brother since he was about 8 years old. Though he thinks he can call himself the big brother since he is taller than me...lol nope. he still my little brother. Graduation seems so close yet so far and moving out is because I'm tired of being told that I will never amount to anything. that anything I do is pointless because i'm worthless. So I'm getting out and away from that. I hope you enjoy that small update.
