"We've got Vitali's wedding invitation card." my mom cried out as I entered the house from a long irritating day of university.
WHAT!!
"How?"
"What do you mean "How" it's a wedding all family and friends are invited"
It was then that I realized I never mentioned anything regarding Vitali's emails to mom. No wonder there was no outburst or reaction from her end.
Oh but!! Woah! Why would Vitali send me her wedding card?
I thought to myself as I opened the invitation, I would be lying to myself if my crazy conscious wasn't expecting a letter inside that read "Dear Amelie... Vihaan is mine... blah blahh.." but I was disappointed. Thankfully.
"So are you going for the wedding then?"
"What do you mean "you" we all will be attending it including you!"
"Ahh. Mom, It's Vitali it might get awkward you know right.."
"I do not approve of it. We are going for the wedding end of discussion."
"When did the discussion even start? Mom seriously, when will you give up on it?
"I'm NOT giving up on it Amelie, you hear me. I have told you this once and for all."
I didn't bother to stand there and wait for her to pass on a single more comment. Unfortunately, I had to attend the wedding it was pointless arguing with her over something which is a matter of couple of hours.
What the hell am I supposed to tell Vihaan?
I'm going for your ex-girlfriend's wedding!!

I picked up my cellphone and dialed in Vihaan's number.
"Hey what's up" he answered
I didn't spare a second thought and spat the words out like a parrot.
"We received an invitation card for Vitali's wedding and now mom wants all of us to attend it. I have to go."
The dramatic pause seemed like ages and then he laughed.
"WHAT!! You got the invitation card?? She tortured you for months and then she sends you her invitation card!!"
Was I the only one who was apparently making a big deal out of it?
"Why are you laughing?"
"Because it is going to be funny how are you two going to meet? Ex-girlfriend of Vihaan and Girlfriend of Vihaan.. Ohhhh catfight!!"
"Vihaannn... shut up.. seriously? I guess everyone I attract is mentally retarded"
He laughed even harder!
"No.. see this may not seem funny but try looking at this through my eyes. Some months ago, she was sending you emails, bitching about you, cursing you and now there's her wedding invitation waiting. Woah!"
"So, what are you trying to imply?"
"She's good at her game!"
"Whose side are you on?"
"Ok.. Ok wait before you lose your head listen to me"
"It's a family invitation firstly, secondly she won't choke slam you in her wedding dress, and thirdly I'm just making it all up to worry you just imagining a catfight over me, what fun though I'd love to attend this wedding."
"Ohh please you've done enough."
"Let the bygones be the bygones"
"I can't believe it you're saying that after you sent those emails across to all the boys you ass.."
"Heyy.. whose side are you on?"
"I'm just saying... you wouldn't do the same with me right?"
"Nope.. That was too childish of me and I'll always be guilty of that no matter of what.. But still do consider the catfight"
"Ohhh phleasee.."
I turned around while still on the phone to find my mother at the door.
SHE HEARD THE CONVERSATION!!!
NO WAY!!
SHIT!!!
Somebody's in trouble..
