Kerri gently eased Damien's Camaro into her parking spot at the hospital and got out. Making sure not to scratch it or mark it as she closed the driver's door. The hospitals garage was lit so you could see, but it had a feel of darkness surrounding it. Kerri had never noticed it before she met Damien and now that she knew that there was a world beyond her human one. A world that belonged to creatures that never died and were extremely powerful. She felt as if she wasn't safe anymore and she could feel the darkness of that world on her skin.

"You know you don't have to be that careful with it, Damien drives it like it's a toy." Ethan said as he took form behind Kerri, Kerri jumped and spun around, mace in hand, her heart pounding against her ribcage.

"Whoa, easy with the mace My lady, it might not work on my kind, but its highly repulsive to us."

"Then don't sneak up on me like that Ethan or you will be sprayed with it, wait what do you mean 'repulsive' to you?"

"It stinks"

"Oh, I see" Kerri said and she started walking quickly towards the door, not wanting to be in the dark garage any longer than she had too. Yeah, she had vampire body guard walking unnoticed behind her and several surrounding the hospital. But she didn't want to stick around in the dark as a tasty morsel for any of the radical vampires to snack on.

"Damien is not going to be happy with me" Ethan said as he held the door for Kerri.

"Why is he not going to be happy with you Ethan?"

"Making your heart pound like that"

"That had nothing to do with you Ethan" Kerri said as she walked into the nurses' station, taking off her coat as she walked towards the desk. Kate looked up at Kerri's voice and noticed Ethan. A sheen of sweat formed on her forehead as she took in all six foot five inches of well-toned muscle. Dressed in an expensive tan leather duster with a black turtle neck underneath. His legs were clad in dark blue jeans and on his feet, were in black Italian leather boots.

The man's face was boyish yet roughish and he had piercing blue eyes, his hair was chocolate brown and he had a small silver hoop in his left ear. Kate could feel the danger radiating off him and she did not like him following her closest friend. Kate grabbed her Taser and cell phone and was on the other side of the desk facing the unknown man tailing her friend. Pointing the Taser towards him making it crackle to life. Kerri grabbed Kate's hand and eased the Taser out of her hand.

"Katherine, he's my body guard and Damien's friend"

Kate grabbed Kerri and pulled her into hug, ignoring what Kerri said about Ethan.

"Kerri where have you been? I've been so worried about you and so has your brother, we knew that you took your vacation time, but your house is empty and no one has seen or heard from you in over a week."

"Again, he's my body guard and Damien's friend, and my house is not empty just void of me. I've been staying with Damien." Kate looked at Kerri with an uh-huh look then looked at Ethan.

"But he looks so mean" Kate huffed and pointed at Ethan. Ethan couldn't help but picture this Katherine as an angry cockatoo with its neck feathers puffed out hopping towards an unwelcome guest. Ethan started laughing and Kerri and Kate looked at him.

"Ethan what you laughing at? You just about got nailed with twenty watts of electricity." Kerri asked, Kate just glared at him,

"Your friend Katherine just reminded me of an angry cockatoo with its neck feathers puffed out. I like her, she's spunky" Ethan said and Kerri smiled as she hugged her best friend.
