Kerri walked into the hospital in a confused haze, she couldn't possibly be starting to have feelings towards her patient. Let alone with a man that looks like he could kill someone and not even flinch while he did it.

Ugh I'm in trouble with this one. Kerri thought as she walked into the nurses' wing of the hospital and into the nurses' station. Kerri sat her bag down, hung her coat on the back of a chair and turned around to snatch an apple. Kerri jumped at the sight Kate.

"Jumpy today, are we?" Kate asked as she handed Kerri a cup of hot cocoa and gave her a warm smile.

"A little bit"

"Still have mafia guy on the brain, do we"

"How'd you guess?" Kerri asked as she looked her best friend in the eyes. Kate always knew when something was eating away at Kerri's mind and that was one thing that made them so close.

"I can see it written all over your face, sweetie, I just don't know what the reason is." Kate said as she hugged Kerri, Kerri hugged her back, grateful that she could rely on Kate for strength.

"It is about him, I can't think strait when I'm around him and my instincts are telling me to run from him, that he's dangerous. But then the feelings that I'm feeling when I'm around him are totally opposite."

"He is compelling, that I will admit and go with what your heart says, it's usually right. But think through what it says with your head, that's the safest way to go about this problem with the mafia dude." Kate said and Kerri smiled and hugged her again.

"Thank you, Kate,"

"No problem, now go and make your rounds, go check on the mafia guy to see if the staff is still alive." Kate said and Kerri smacked her arm and they both walked away laughing. Kerri walked towards her patient's room and looked in. He was standing in front of the open window, staring at the blue sky.

"Hum sir, how are you feeling today?" Kerri asked and he turned around, his pale skin lighter in the sun's rays and his purplish-silver eyes shinned in the light. Damien slightly bowed at the waist towards her, his hand on his chest.

"Doctor. I'm feeling better-" Damien stopped, closed his eyes and took a deep breath through his nose.

"You smell beautiful, the smell of roses, mangos, and of the night. Wonderful scent for you Kerri," Damien said and Kerri's cheeks flushed red and Damien smiled at the color.

"Tell me if I ever cross the line"

"I will and I need to check the wounds on your back" Kerri said and Damien nodded and grabbed the bottom hem of his black shirt and lifted it up and over his head.

Kerri went still when she saw his bare chest and the way his muscles rippled when he moved. Kerri took a shaky deep breath before stepping close to him. He didn't move and just waited for her to come closer, when she was close to him. He turned and showed her his back, Kerri reached up to pull at the ends of the tape that held the wrappings in place. When she removed the first one she noticed that the wound was gone, only a pink angry scar remained. She quickly removed the other wrappings and saw the same result, all that she could do was to back up and to sit on his bed.

"How?"

"How what?"

"You only have scars from your back wounds and you only received them five weeks ago. I don't see how you could have healed so quickly."

Damien turned and took a step towards her and her head snapped up at the sound of his footstep. His eyes were confused and filled with worry,

"I don't like it when you're over whelmed, it feels wrong to me for some reason." Damien lifted his right hand to reach for her, but stopped and lowered his hand. Kerri noticed that he had metal in and on his arm, but her mind skipped over that and focused on his face. He looked at the wall like he wasn't seeing it, caught in his own thoughts.
