***Elizabeth's P.O.V.*** (this'll be a bit short due to the last chapter and the next one coming tonight hopefully)
It felt like just as soon as we got back to the flat, Louis was dragging me into a car. I felt bad that he would be driving somewhere on his birthday, but he insisted that he was okay because it wouldn't take too long to get there. He was right, because as soon as we had been driving for an hour we were there. It was a quaint looking home, not much different from mine on the outside. As soon as we walked through the door I was surrounded by four girls who kept asking me questions. I smiled and answered each one to the best of my ability before they dragged me away from a chuckling Louis.
It wasn't as bad as he mad it out to be; the younger girls enjoyed playing with me and the older ones just liked to talk. By the time we were all called down to dinner they had told me a whole bunch of things about Louis that were sure to make Carson laugh. Not that I was going to tell her.... okay, just don't tell Louis, but I totally am going to tell her.
''I think they like you more than they like me,'' Louis joked as we ate. I laughed with him before going back to the food. He was right though when he said I would like it here; they treated me like family.
When it was almost time to get to bed, Louis called me into his room because he said that Harry was on Skype. We both sat on the bed as Harry's happy face appeared on the screen. ''Happy birthday, Louis!'' he exclaimed excitedly.
Louis smiled back at him sincerely, ''thanks.''
''Harry, why are you being so anti-social?'' a voice called from somewhere off screen and Harry looked up at whoever it was.
''Oh, um, I'm talking to friends,'' he told the woman on the other side. Soon she showed up on screen and I had no trouble figuring out who she was. After all, they looked so much alike.
''Oh, Louis! Happy birthday, dear!'' his mom greeted happily.
''Thanks, Anne,'' Louis beamed, ''sorry for taking Harry away from the family.''
''Oh, nonsense, he's allowed to wish his friend a happy birthday,'' she laughed. It was a laugh just like one of Harry's, who was sitting there looking rather nervous though I couldn't figure out why.
''Well, we wont keep him too much longer,'' I told her and she looked at me as if she had just noticed me. Her face lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw me and she looked to Harry.
''Is that her, Harry?'' she asked with a wide and knowing smile. Even in the dark room I could see Harry's dark blush when he nodded shyly. ''Oh my, Harry was right; you are beautiful, dear,'' she smiled to me and I felt my cheeks heat up.
''Thanks Mrs. Styles,'' I gave a slight giggle at Harry's mortified expression.
''Please, call me Anne. Oh, you should hear him talk about you he's so-,''
''Mum!'' Harry groaned and she laughed as she patted his cheek lightly.
''I'm going to go get Gemma, she's going to want to see Elizabeth too,'' she mumbled excitedly before exiting quickly. Harry's eyes went wide as he saw her leave and then he turned to the screen urgently.
''Okay, so I don't have much time before Gemma gets here. Merry Christmas to you guys, and, um, Elizabeth, Louis has your present from me so he'll give it to you tomorrow or maybe tonight, I don't know. Just, um, call me if you get the chance and I-,''
''Harry Edward Styles, mum told me that you were Skyping Elizabeth and you didn't tell me,'' a voice said from the background which I inferred was Gemma, ''I want to see this girl that you keep going on about.''
Harry looked like a dear caught in the headlights as he looked at the girl who still stood off screen. Then the call ended and we didn't see anything. Louis burst with laughter as he rolled around on top of the bed and gasped for air. ''Did you see his face? Oh, Gemma is going to kill him when she finds out he ended the call!'' he got out once his laughter had died down. I just blushed at all that they had said, though I was a bit happy to hear that he talked about me. Just when Louis was about to close his laptop, there was another Skype call from Harry. Louis accepted the call and, instead of Harry, a girl who looked a little like him showed up on the screen.
She had hair that looked as if it had been dyed blonde because the roots were showing a chocolate brown like Harry's. The curls were evident in her hair too, and she even had the dimples when she smiled widely. She was no doubt his sister, Gemma. He talked about all of his family frequently, but he spoke of Gemma and Anne the most.
''Well, mum wasn't exaggerating,'' she stated with a nod of her head, ''my brother says you're nice, is she nice, Louis?''
Louis nodded with a smile on his face before asking his own question, ''does Harry know you're on his laptop?''
''No,'' she giggled before putting a finger to her lips as if to tell us not to tell on her. ''He doesn't want anyone telling Elizabeth all the embarrassing things he's admitted.'' My cheeks burned red at her words.
''Embarrassing?'' I wondered and Louis couldn't seem to contain his laughter anymore.
''Mhm, you should hear him at the dinner table whenever he's asked if he has somebody special in his life. Goes on and on about you and how pretty you are and how nice and caring and forgiving. I'm guessing you have to be very forgiving when it comes to my brother because he is such the klutz,'' she babbled and with each word I felt my cheeks heat up more and more. ''He's so-,''
''Gem! What are you doing on my laptop?" Harry's voice demanded angrily.
''Uh-oh,'' she giggled before closing the computer and making the screen go black again.
That was definitely interesting...
Louis woke me up at one o'clock in the morning.
One o'clock in the morning.
He just came in, woke me up, handed me the present Harry had been talking about, and then walked back to his room like a zombie. I had put it on my side table to open in the morning but I couldn't get to sleep after that so I picked it up again and examined the box. He had said that I could open it whenever I wanted...
With that thought I delicately ripped off the wrapping paper and put it in the trash bin near my bed. With a deep breath, I opened the box and took a look inside. Inside laid a bracelet with several different charms on it; a cup of hot chocolate, a cross, a Twix bar, and a small ring that looked a lot like the one from Schindler's list. I smiled at it, each charm bringing along a few memories from when I had first stayed at the flat with Harry and Louis. I reached over for my phone and turned it on before remembering that Harry probably wouldn't be awake at this time of the night.
Since it was already on, I found myself looking through it until I came across the voicemail of his that I had saved long ago. I had never actually listened to it, only saved it because I felt like I needed to for some reason. My finger hovered over the button that would play it momentarily before I pressed it and brought the phone to my ear.
''Elizabeth, it's Harry. I guess you already knew that though. I'm really, extremely sorry for what I did, and I know that that will never be enough; but I'm going to keep saying it until I can make it all up to you. I wish you would answer; I would die just to hear your voice again. I love you so damn much, Elizabeth.''
Beep.
''if you would like to save this message please press 7.''
And I did.
