One Last Breath
Bionics (Bree)

I could hope. I could that all of this would end okay. I could hope that because I had taken the bullet for Chase that everyone would be able to live. Even if I couldn't live to see the end. Chase had told me to keep my hope in the beginning of this, at the start of this war. But I didn't know. I didn't know how any of this would end. It was hard to keep the hope with that sort of uncertainty. I could feel the blood slowly slipping out of me through the wound on my collar bone. I could still feel the bullet deep inside of my upper chest, the spot between my collar bone and my left shoulder. It made it hard to breath. It made it so that I could barely see. The bullet insured that my life would be taken either quickly, or long and painfully. For me, it seemed as though it was the latter.
"Bree." Chase whispered worriedly as he quickly knelt down next to me, reaching out for my hand and gripping it lovingly. The look he gave me, it made the tears flow freely from my eyes. He did love me. He still did love me. He had done all of this, even when he wasn't aware of it, to keep me safe. Now, he felt as though he had failed. "I was supposed to take the bullet for you." He sent me a weak smile before Giselle loaded the gun once more. The small smile dropped off Chase's face, an emotionless expression playing now as he stood up from his spot next to me. He gently dropped my hand as Giselle shot another bullet his way, Chase using his molecular kinesics to stop the bullet in mid air with ease.
"What the hell?" Giselle breathed as she let her hands hang down at her sides, watching Chase intently.
"You didn't think killing us would be that easy, did you?" Chase mocked as he held the bullet in the air, waving Adam over. Our older brother nodded, stepping behind Chase's hand to use his strength in forcing the bullet back at Giselle. She stood motionlessly as the two threw the bullet back at her, the bullet breaking through the skin on her left thigh.
"Owe!" She hissed as she dropped the gun, her hands flying to cup the hole in her leg. She looked up at Chase, sending him the evilest look I'd ever seen before her left index finger crawled over to the wristlet on her right wrist. The evil leader clicked the button to activate her many androids as Chase took a step back towards me.
"I need you to fight." He breathed as he knelt down beside me once again, his breathing quick as he brought his right hand up to my shoulder. "This'll hurt." He whispered before using his molecular kinesics to rip the bullet back out of my chest.
"Ah!" I screamed, my right hand slamming down against his arm as my fingernails dug deep into his mission suit. The bullet leaving my chest hurt worse than it had when it had entered. He nodded, tossing the bullet into the wall with a bang before pulling out a long piece of gauze to wrap around my upper chest. He lifted me up, wrapping the gauze quickly around me before he stood once more and made his way to the controls. I frowned as he rested his finger against a single button on the keyboard.
"Deactivate every android." Chase spoke, the speakers around the warehouse ringing loudly with his words before he brought a remote up and out of his pocket. He clicked the button, then after quickly snapping the remote in half. Chase had turned the bionics back on. I would have recognized that remote anywhere. That was the very remote that he had used to put me to sleep before. Giselle's eyes widened as she realized what he had done.
"No!" She yelled as she clumsily walked over, picking up the broken pieces of the remote within her hand. "I thought you told me the bionics were all dead!" She boomed as she directed her stare to Chase, trying to strike fear into him without using weapons or words.
