Waiting...

I think it had been about a week. Remus had came a couple of times. It felt a lot better than Azkaban, but only because of the dementors.

People would moan all day and say they didn't do whatever they were there for. Quite a few people had left the cells and not come back, maybe Azkaban or being let off.

I got fed more than at Azkaban but a lot less than Hogwarts. I was told the trial would be in 2 days, I just hoped Dumbledore or someone had something to help me.

My memories had been taken about 3 days after I arrived. I gave them the memories of that night and of the other attack a few weeks before.

"How are you feeling?" I looked up and saw Kingsley.

"The usual. Just waiting for an answer."

"Dumbledore has talked to the girls. The one girl woke up and they say she will be well enough to attend so the main two will be here on the date." I just nodded and then he smiled slightly and walked away. That was a bit of relief, knowing the girl had woken.

There was probably some story they had made up to tell everyone. I probably already had no friends back at Hogwarts.

I sighed and looked over at the corridor outside. It wasn't very long, and there was finally hardly anyone there, so it wasn't as loud, but it felt so lonely and horrible.

"2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?,
I don't love him. Winter just wasn't my season"
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to criticize,
Hypocrites. You're all here for the very same reason

'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl.
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe... just breathe,
Oh breathe, just breat..."

Someone started clapping slowly and I looked up and smiled.

"Remus."

"You have a lovely voice. You should use it more often." I just shrugged. "Don't be so quiet next time." He chuckled. "How are you?"

"Same as all the other days. Just waiting." Sounded virtually the same as what I said to Kingsley but oh well, there wasn't much more to say.

"Not long now Poppy. It will go quickly and then you'll be back at Hogwarts in no time."

"Don't jinx it." I smirked slightly. But I did hope the same.

"Sorry." He smiled. "It's only a quick one, no one involved is meant to see you this close to the trial but I got special permission."

"Dumbledore." I muttered. He just nodded and I moved closer so he could hold my hand.

"Just don't worry. That's all. I'll see you soon."

"See you soon." He then walked off down the long corridor and I felt sad watching him go, why do I get attached?

Today was the day. I'd have to stand in front of all those people like last time, and maybe even go to Azkaban again, like last time. I was actually feeling scared, something I hadn't felt in a long time.

"Ready to go?" A gruff voice spoke. I looked up and he unlocked the gate and then led me out into the corridor. I didn't look as bad as last time, but my hair was a bit matted and greasy, along with dirty looking clothes.

There was a guard either side of me as I stood behind the doors waiting to go in, I could hear people taking their seats and general conversations. I heard part of my name and then the doors opened, the crowd wasn't as big as last time, and neither was the group of people who decided my fate.
