I had seen Bastion again a week ago now. It was only a week now until September 1st. The start of the new school year. I hadn't really seen anyone in the last week and I was getting anxious. I hadn't seen Bill or Remus or any of the Aurors. I hadn't even seen some of the teachers.
Maybe it was just some coincidence thing. I needed to stop bothering about it.
I sat bored on the sofa staring at the book, it had been on page 284 for about three hours. Things were running through my mind and I couldn't concentrate. It was a Herbology book, and apparently I needed to know all the stuff. Whatever.
I would go into this year knowing just as much as others, and not more. I didn't want to be some sort of nerd or something.
"Still on that page?" A monotoned voice spoke. I smirked as I turned to see Severus.
"Might be. I have things on my mind. I've been remembering a few things too." I shrugged. "Herbology seems boring anyway, like really boring."
"Education is important, apparently." Severus waved his hand and walked to the kitchen.
"Yeh, I don't believe much of that. I've learned plenty already in my life." I slammed the book shut, knowing I wasn't going to read anymore. I put it in my room and turned to the kitchen. "Where have Remus and Bill been? I haven't seen them in ages." I commented.
"Business." He spoke and it sounded like he didn't want me to question it, oh well.
"What business? Is it to do with Sirius?" I asked. He stiffened slightly but looked over.
"A little. Just forget about it. They will be at the castle in the next couple of days."
"That's waaaay too long! I haven't seen Remus in over a week!" I stomped my foot like a little child but I didn't care.
"I won't ask him to come back at all then! If you've coped for over a week." He sneered. I just huffed and walked toward the door. "Where are you going?"
"For a walk." I grumbled.
"You know you can't do that." He snapped. I smirked and pulled open the door.
"Come and get me then." I ran out and heard him yell my name as I hid in a small alcove in the wall.
"POPPY!" He yelled as he ran down the corridor and straight past me. So funny. I laughed to myself and walked back into the living space and into my room.
I sat down on the bed and stared out of the dungeon window for a moment. Then I had an idea that I hadn't thought of before. Of course! I was going to send a letter to Sirius.
I scrambled off the bed and to some drawers, I pulled out a normal pen and some parchment. My writing wasn't great but I could write a simple letter.
I went into the kitchen area and sat on a stool. I stared at the parchment but didn't know what to write.
*** Dear Sirius ***
I tapped the pen for a while, just thinking.
*** Hi! It's me Sarai, well it's Poppy now. I think I've changed a lot since being here.
I met your friend Remus, he's sort of like a friend really. He seems to think your guilty though. There is also Bill Weasley, he's nice.
I just wanted to say hi and glad that you got out, I'm sure people will know your innocent soon. At least you are innocent, I never will be.
I'll write again soon maybe, I'm not good with letters or words. Write back and I'll tell you more about my experience, it's a long story.
I start school in a week as well, I'm sort of excited, but it's still school, so it's not that exciting.
