Over the next couple of days they got Potter to write to Sirius and explain what was going on. I hoped he believed it and would actually turn up.
I sat in my Common Room and stared out of the window, ignoring most people as usual.
It was the last few days of school and this time next week I would be with the Weasleys. I didn't want to admit it, but I was kind of looking forward to that.
I squinted as I saw something in the sky. It looked like it was floating. I stared for a good 10 minutes until it became more of a shape and then I jumped up and nearly leapt through the window to try and look properly.
"It's Sirius!" I shouted. I turned and the whole common room became quiet, some looked scared. Idiots.
"Sirius is back!" I grinned. The golden trio all jumped up as I ran out of the common room. I couldn't believe it, he actually came back. I was so excited.
I ran down stairs after stairs and I was nearly heaving when I got to the bottom.
"Watch it." Someone hissed. I looked up and saw a couple of Slytherins.
"Whatever." I pushed past them and carried on out of the large front doors and realised footsteps were following behind me.
I looked up from the courtyard and saw the Hippogriff getting larger and larger until finally it swooped down and landed. The others had arrived too.
"Sirius." I ran towards him and he grinned as he jumped off the back of the bird.
"Poppy." He smiled. "I'm glad your okay. That was a scary night the other night."
"It was. But now we can prove your innocence properly. Come on." I grabbed his arm but he wasn't going anywhere. He was then too busy with Potter and the others so I just waited.
"Sirius Black." A voice spoke. I turned and saw Professor Dumbledore walking over to us.
"Albus Dumbledore." Sirius walked forward and grasped his hand. "Thank you for giving me a chance."
"These children seem to believe you are innocent, and I felt inclined to listen. Let's go up to my office, we can inform the Ministry that you are here."
"Of course. Let's go." We all walked together up towards the Headmasters office. Sirius asked if he could sort himself out, he still looked ragged and his hair was quite long and dirty. Like me when I first came to Hogwarts.
"Use my private rooms. They are up the stairs, I'm sure you'll find some adequate robes." Dumbledore conjured some more seats and we all sat around the desk, waiting for Sirius to finish.
"I can't believe your actually letting us do this Professor. I'm surprised the Ministry want to give him a chance."
"Well Poppy, they have you a chance did they not."
"Yeh, but they would happily throw me back in Azkaban if they want to."
"I doubt that. You have proven yourself enough. One moment please." A bright white Phoenix suddenly shot out the end of Dumbledores wand and I gasped slightly. He talked to the animal and then it disappeared.
"The Ministry officials should be here within a few minutes. Lemon Drop anyone?"
Potter, Weasley and Granger all took one but I declined.
They were all muttering to each other, but I just sat in silence and waited. For Dumbledore to allow Sirius to sort himself out makes me think he trusts him. Maybe he already knows the truth.
I jumped slightly when the fire blew up and out came 4 Ministry Wizards, including the Minister for Magic himself.
"Good afternoon Albus."
