Maybe Its No So Bad

I woke up slowly and realised someone was banging, obviously they didn't care about my sleep.

"Poppy! Your going to be late." Someone moaned. Oh, its Severus. Damn, first day of school.

"yeh, I'm up Severus!" I yelled. I threw off the covers and got up slowly, it was pretty cold. I walked out of my door and into the bathroom, Severus was glaring at me.

I sorted my bathroom stuff out and then stuffed some cereals in my face. I didn't want to eat in the great hall, but I didn't have time either.

"hurry, you have ten minutes until class."

"Yes, ok. I'll just get dressed." I walked back into my room and shoved my uniform on, I decided to wear some black jeans with my uniform today.

I brushed my hair and pulled my robe on and my bag.

"Minerva sent down your timetable." Severus spoke as he handed me some paper.

"okay, thanks." I muttered. I walked out the door and Bill was standing right there. "Hey Bill!" I smiled.

"Hey Poppy, come on then, your running late." He put a hand on my shoulder and we both made our way down to the greenhouses for Herbology. I had learnt a bit about herbology, but not much.

We arrived at the greenhouses and I was 10 minutes late. Oops.

"Sorry we are late Professor Sprout. Poppy was a bit late waking up." Bill spoke nicely. He's good at this.

"No problem, just don't let it happen again please Miss.Dustan." She ushered me into this muddy place and everyone was sitting around a table. I stood near the back and a few people stared at me, until I returned it with a nice glare.

"Okay class. As I was saying before Miss.Dustan arrived, we shall be learning about mandrakes for the first few weeks and maybe even working with some." Professor Sprout spoke. "Today may be slightly boring as I shall be mainly talking and writing while you listen and copy me."

Some people groaned and I did a bit too. This was going to be boring.

I looked over at Bill and even he looked slightly bored.

"I've learnt all of this before. It seems strange to sit here and learn it again." Bill whispered with a chuckle.

"Yeh, I don't really want to learn it once." I grinned.

"Hey, be serious about your studies!" He mock admonished. I chuckled slightly but carried on copying down the rubbish notes, I really wasn't interested in Herbology.

I was so glad when Sprout dismissed us. But we had to wait until all the other students had left, then Bill took me back up to the castle, to the next lesson. Transfiguration, wooh.

We got into the corridor and everyone was waiting in a line outside, me and Bill just joined the back.

"Yeh, I'm definitely never doing Herbology as a job when I'm older." I spoke to Bill.

"Its not that bad you know. You can learn some pretty cool stuff." He smiled. I just shrugged and finally McGonagall opened the classroom door, I was allowed in first and she sat me at the front. Bill sat at the back of the class and then she did some sort of seating plan thingy.

Some blonde boy was sitting on my left and a black haired girl on my right.

"Right then class, in this lesson we shall be mainly talking about the curriculum for the year. If you would all take out your quills and parchment." She began. She waited for us to get the stuff and then carried on. "Also, as you all know, Poppy Dustan-" she pointed to me, "-has joined our class of Gryffindor's and Ravenclaw's, please make her feel very welcome." She smiled slightly at me and I gave her a small smile back.
