That First Day

It was now the first day of classes with Scarface. Yay, its going to be great, I just know it.

I had talked to Mr.Torchwood and moaned to him about Scarface. He totally understood why I hated him, but also had some reasons for why I should like him. But I didn't like those reasons.

So here I was, Monday morning, doing up my tie in the bathroom. I was starting to like the red and gold, but I knew I would have liked the green and silver better, I like those colours.

I really didn't want to go to any classes today, not with that guy.

"Poppy, we are going to be late for breakfast." Severus drawled.

"I'm coming." I spoke. Why couldn't he have more of an exciting voice? It was always the boring monotone.

"Hurry." He snapped. Great start to the morning.

I finished my tie and then quickly brushed my teeth before leaving the bathroom. I grabbed my bag and we headed out to the great hall. Why did these days have to be so repetitive?

I took my usual seat and noticed Scarface at the end of the table. I glared down at him, but he wasn't looking at me, luckily. However he seemed to be finding something really interesting. I looked over the crowd and spotted that Harry Potter, Scarface was staring at him. Hmmmm.

"Well I hope you are going to behave today Poppy." Remus spoke up. I looked at him and scowled.

"I'm not the one who needs to behave. Thanks." I snapped slightly. I felt bad about it but didn't say anything else.

"I was only saying Poppy. Don't speak to me like that."

"Yes ok. Sorry." I muttered and then carried on. "I just know it wont be good. Its not going to work Remus."

"I'm sure it will, in time. Just wait it out and try not to get on each others nerves."

"Yeh, I'll try." I finished up with breakfast and most of the hall was empty anyway.

I felt a heavy hand on my shoulder and I looked up.

"What?" I said.

"Its sir to you." He spat. "We are going." I glared up at him and then looked at Remus again.

"I'm going. See you later."

"Have a good day Poppy." He smiled.

"Thanks, and you." I noticed that Severus was already gone, along with most of the teachers. I stood up and grabbed my bag. I walked in front of Moody and all the way to my Transfiguration class. I wasn't even sure if he was behind me.

Everyone had already gone in by the time I got there. I walked in and sat down at my seat.

"Goodmorning class." McGonagall started. "Today we shall be doing some theory, please get out your parchment and quills." She turned towards the board and started writing something, which I just copied, not really taking it in.

Scarface wasn't sitting next to me, I wasn't sure where he was, not that I cared.

"Hey Poppy." I heard Regan speak. I turned slightly to him and smiled a bit.

"Hey. Do you get this?"

"What's there not to get?" He smirked.

"True." I spoke. We didn't speak for a while after that, just copied the work and got on with it. We had History of Magic after this, and I was not looking forward to that boring class.

"Why does History of Magic have to be so boring?" I groaned as we were packing away.

"Its the teacher, Binns' obviously doesn't know how to teach a good class." Regan shrugged.
