Unkown POV

They were here, I could feel their eyes watching me. I tugged my purse strap tighter on my shoulder and pushed past busy shoppers. A large fountain was at the center of the mall's lobby which had teens and kids littered all over it. I pulled my tinted glasses over my eyes and tucked my hair behind my ear. I looked around the area and then I saw him. I immediately froze when his black pitless eyes glared upon me. Everything I had ever learned seemed to disappear, I was his prey. The noise and people washed away and it was just me and him. His sultry lips pulled up into a side smile he raised his hand and then...he was gone. I looked around the mall again the noises seemed amplified in my ears. I could hear him whispering to me.

"I'll get you Enchantress."

"I'll get you all."

I woke up gasping for breath on a bed in the nurses office with Chris hovered over me as I panted in a sweat. He cradled his arm under my neck and gently set my head back down on my pillow. "Relax, everything is all right." He smiled at me.

I sighed in relief. I swallowed deeply and asked, "What-what happened?"

Chris chuckled. "I was hoping you could explain that to me." I propped myself up onto my elbows. "Take it easy you hit your head pretty hard."

"Where is she?" I heard someone yell from outside the nurse's office. "I need to see her!"

Chase slammed the door open, with the school nurse yelling at him from behind. "Valerie," He gasped and walked towards the bed. He squinted his eyes at Chris. "What are you doing here?" He asked defensively.

"Dude, I'm just trying to help out." Chris held out his hands innocently.

Chase pushed against him. "I don't want you to be anywhere near her." He spat in Chris's face.

"Chase!" I yelled and slowly stood up. The blood rushed to my head and I immediately felt dizzy. Chris grabbed my arm to steady me.

"Don't you dare but your hands on her." Chase shoved him into a cabinet which caused medicines and first aid supplies to spill out and crash onto the white tile floor.

"Stop it!" I yelled at Chase and yanked on his shirt's collar to pry him off of his chokehold on Chris.

Chase was panting heavily when he released Chris, who was staring incrediously at Chase with his arms out in surrender. "What the hell was that about?" I asked Chase who reached out to caress my hands. I pulled away from him. He gently rubbed the scrape on my forehead. "Just get away from me." I said each word slowly. I grabbed my sweatcoat off a chair that was besides the bed. "Let's go." I grabbed Chris's hand and pulled him with me out of the nurse's office.

Chase punched his fist into the wall as I ran out into the main lobby. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what that was about-" Chris put his finger to my lips.

"I understand," He shrugged. "crazy ex-boyfriend problems."

I laughed nervously. "Thanks for helping me and everything."

"It was my honor." Chris smiled. I could feel my cheeks redden.

"But," Chris took a step towards me so that I could feel his sweet breath blow on my skin. "if you really want to make it up to me then how about tomorrow night? He asked quietly with his hands in his pockets.

"That would be nice." I smiled at him. Chris saluted me as he walked backwards towards his next class.

"It's a date." He grinned.

I smiled to myself as I walked through the halls towards my next period. Just as I was turning to corner, a hand wrapped around my waist and covered my mouth as they tugged me inside the janitor's closet. They locked the door as they pulled me inside. I screamed into their hand and stepped on their foot. They cursed and released me.

"What the-Chase?" I rolled my eyes. "Really Chase, really?" I shouted. Chase put his hand over my mouth again.

"Keep it down." He muttered and I pushed him off of me.

"I really need to go to class."

Chase stood in front of the door. "Move." I ordered. I closed my eyes to calm myself down. I heard a crash and opened my eyes to see Chase lying in a pile of detergents. I suppressed a laugh.

"This is why we need to talk." Chase said as he stood up and dusted himself off.

"To help you not fall into cleaning supplies?" I giggled.

Chase rolled his eyes. "Valerie, it's time I finally let you know."

"Know what?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"I'm your guardian." I laughed.

"Well your doing a great job!" I said sarcastically.

Chase grabbed my hands and held them in his. "I'm supposed to protect you."

"Protect me? From what?" I laughed.

"The men in your dream."

I choked and ran a hand through my hair. "That wasn't real." I told him slowly backing up against the wall as he came towards me.

"You have to believe me, Valerie."

"Get away from me!" I shouted and all the sudden the shelves in the supply room started to shake and their contents fell onto the floor.

Chase jumped on top of me and shoved me to the cold granite just as a metal rod nearly missed me. He breathed heavily, his body pressed against mine. "Believe me now?"

I swallowed slowly looking into warm eyes, maybe he was telling the truth maybe that was the reason I always felt so safe around him. I took a deep breath. "Get off of me." I squeaked and he rolled over.

"Just stay away from me." I said slowly, as I stood up.

"Listen to me, Valerie. Those guys are coming for you, and I'm the only one who can protect you."

"Just please," My voice squeaked. "please stay away from me." I sniffled.

I reached for the door knob and wrapped my fingers around the cool metal. "Valerie!" Chase reached out for me as I ran into the hallway.

The tears streamed down my face as my shoes squeaked against the floor. Everyone was in class and the halls were quiet. I turned a corner, looking back to see that Chase hadn't followed me and reached my locker. I swallowed my tears and wiped my face with the back of my palm. I was officially going crazy. Those men, Channing Tatum in the gym, the dream none of it was real. I froze wondering to myself, was Chase one of them? No, his eyes were different they had life in them unlike their cold black pits. I took a calming breath as I banged my head against my locker as I put in my combination and opened my locker. A note flew out and landed at my feet. I looked around the hallway, besides a couple eerie flickering lights and the clock ticking it was completely empty. I reached down and grasped the notecard. It read:
