"Hey, Stranger." I turned towards Eric and smiled.
We never went this long without talking before. I was hardly texting him lately and with all the Echantress drama lately I've completely forgotten about him.
"Hey, there." I nudged him with my elbow. He chuckled.
"Did you forget about me?" He frowned.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "How could I ever forget about you?" I pinched his cheeks, laughing.
He put his hand to his heart in flattery and waved his cheeks as if trying to hide his blush. I giggled. "So are you in for tonight?"
"What's tonight?"
"Party at my house at seven. Bring the drinks and I'll bring the pizza." He gave me a thumbs up.
"Do your parents know about this party?"
"What they don't know won't kill them." He smirked.
"Okay, I'm in. Can I bring-" He cut me off.
"Your new boyfriend, Chris?" He chuckled. "Sure."
I squeezed him tightly. "Thanks buddy." I smiled up at his towering height.
He patted me on the head affectionately. "I miss you." This caught me off guard.
I smiled slightly at him. "Same."
"Is everything okay, lately? I feel like something about you is just...different."
I bit my lip. I wanted to tell him so badly. It's just with his loud mouth who knows who he could accidently spill the news too. "Everything," I paused. "is fine."
"Good. Well, you know where to find me if you ever want to talk." He grinned and added, "In my bed."
I laughed. "Your such a pig!"
He smirked and waved me goodbye as he rushed off to the last class period of the day. I headed off in the opposite direction to spend my free period at study hall. Since the halls were empty I couldn't help, but have a little fun. I scanned the halls quickly and raised my hand slightly pointing it at a vending machine lined against the wall. A Snicker's bar fell out of the machine and I bent over to retreive it. I laughed to myself as I bit into the candy bar and continued on my way to class.
Just as I was about to walk into class, I turned back around to head into the bathroom really quickly. I threw my books onto the countertop next to the sink and fixed up my dripping mascara. I gasped, at the sudden stinging in my ankle and I lifted it up onto the counter so that I could see it better in the bright lights that lined the mirror. I pulled up the hem on my jeans and pulled my hand away when the glowing scars burned my finger tips. "What the-" I muttered. The scars seemed to be merging together to form some sort of picture. The result was a burning sensation that was making my ankle smoke. I bit my lip, trying to handle the pain I was in and grabbed a paper towel and dabbed it lightly with water. When the scars finally finished transforming my ankle now had a strange symbol on it. There was a small "E" imprinted on my skin and vines, leaves, and flowers swirled around it. The entire scar glowed a bright silver until finally it stopped and the color seemed to recede back into my skin leaving just the new symbol.
I knew who I had to ask to know what this means, but it wasn't worth it. So far this new scar hardly hurt me compared to the last ones and I didn't need his help anymore...right?
I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulder running back out into the hallway when he slammed into me and pushed me against the locker pinning my arms above my head. "Miss me, Enchantress?" Chase muttered between his gritted teeth.
