Fire

Katy POV

 I was like a human water hose. Water spurted through my hands and I aimed my powerful currents at the Lawless who were in full wolf form charging at me. I slipped on the grass, due to the flooding I caused and banged my head on the ground. A Lawless jumped on top of me, and scratched it's claw along my jaw line. I screamed and shoved it off me with the water pressure I exerted through my palms. I wiped the blood from my face and shakily got back onto my feet. The football stadium lights shined down on the field me and Grace were on. The bleachers were set on fire and the Lawless leaped across the field in large packs. It seemed like they would never stop coming. Grace had built a ring of fire around her so that whenever a Lawless would lurch for her they would be swallowed among her powerful flames. A Lawless succumed to her power and retracted back into it's human form then slowly crumbled to dust.

I limped across the wet field, hearing heavy panting from behind me. I whipped my head around only to be shoved back onto the ground. My hands were pinned above my head so that I couldn't use my power and my legs were locked underneath the heavy wolf that laid on top of me. I spat in his face, breathing heavily as I stared into it's dark black eyes. It let out a low growl that buzzed through my ears. "Grace!' I screamed, and it slashed it claw across my abdomen. I titled my head to the side to see Grace set a Lawless's tail on fire. "Behind you!" I screamed as one jumped onto her back. She spurted fire through her palms and set it alight. 

The Lawless on top of me hovered closely above my face. It's large canine's spread into a mimicking smile. It raised its paw and I braced myself for the impact when there was a loud howl from across the field. It turned it's head towards the noise. At full speed came Nate in his wolf form. He jumped ten feet into the air and on top of the Lawless that restrained me. I rolled over just in time, as Nate pierced his claw through the Lawless's throat making it collapse over. I barely scraped by it's sharp claws that threatened to penetrate right through me as it returned to it's human form. Then it shriveled to dust. I breathed heavily, turning onto my side and grunting uneasily in pain. Nate's wolf panted heavily, his ounge dripped from his mouth. I looked at him pitingly. His fur was bloody and dripped onto the wet grass. He looked up at me and for just that moment as I laid on the grass with the blinding lights of the stadium blaring down on me, there was a flicker of light in his pitless eyes. I pressed down my arm over my bleeding wound to stop the blood from flowing over my torn dress. Nate growled and his hair retreated into him as he slowly shrank down back to his human size. The only articles of clothing that were left on him were barely visible reminants that covered only his most private areas. "Katy." He limped towards me, clasping his side. He sank down besides me and pulled me into his arms. Kissing my forehead softly he whispered, "We can't beat them."

I turned and grabbed his face in my hands. "Yes we can." I breathed. I caressed his cheek softly. Grace screamed from behind us. She threw a fire ball at a Lawless as it grabbed her by the leg and threw her twenty feet into the air. I held out my palm and caught her in a whirlpool of water that floated above the ground around her. I set Grace gently back onto the Grace and the water retreated into the soil. She nodded at me thankfully as she jumped onto a Lawless's back, straddling it with her legs and choking the life out of the beast. 

"Whatever happens I want you to know that your the best thing that's ever happened to me." Nate whispered as his claws sprouted through his fingertips. 

"Let me kiss you already." I laughed and pressed my lips down on his. I let his sweat drenched body mold against my tattered dress, and brushed my tounge against his sharp fangs that retracted back into his mouth. I pulled away from his suddenly as pain rippled through my body.
