More Than This

It took Greg making a small windstorm in my room and Katy making it rain sprinkles of water onto my head to wake me up the morning. "No!" I whined, rolling over and putting my pillow over my soaking hair.

"I will literally karate chop you." Greg threatened, reaching under the covers and picking me up only to throw me onto my carpet.

"Okay! Okay!" I stumbled onto my feet. "I'm up. Sheesh you Enchantress's are fricken nuts." I rolled my eyes at them. Greg snickered.

"Looking good, Floater Girl." Greg winked at me as I tripped over a pile of clothes that had been tossed out of my closet thanks to Greg. Then I saw what he was hinting at once I got the first look of myself in my floor-length mirror. I face palmed myself.

"I hate you both so much right now." I gritted between my teeth, turning slowly to see Katy and Greg trying to keep in their laughter as their cheeks turned red. "You think this is funny?" I gestured to the heap of hair on my head that resembled a crows nest. Greg cupped his mouth with his hand to hold in his obnoxious laughter. I pushed him onto the floor with a slight twitch of my hand. Clapping my hands together satisfyingly I began to comb through my hair at my vanity. Greg picked himself off the ground and leaned against the wall picking at his nails. "How do boys get ready so fast?" I asked in amazement as I turned on my blow dryer.

"I'm already irresistably handsome." He smiled smugly at me. I didn't argue though.

Katy was searching through my walk in closet for something to wear and constantly pulling out combinations that I kept denying. "I'm not really the frilly type." Katy sighed.

Greg banged his head against the wall in boredom. "I know just what you need!" I clapped my hands together excitedly. Leaning over in my chair to get a better view of my open closet, I reached out my hand and levitated a pair of skinny jeans and a cute little zip-up cardigan onto my bed. "Try those on." I told Katy who admired what I had picked out. I narrowed my eyes at Greg. "If your just going to stand there you might as well be useful." I reached over and yanked him besides me. "Dry my hair." I ordered.

His furrowed his eyebrows at me. "Do that wind thing you do...and dry. my. hair." I said in simple terms.

"I"m not some human blow dryer." He pouted his lips.

"That's right!" I encouraged. "You're a very special boy who can make wind come out of his hands, and is so kind to dry my hair!" I took his hand and placed them on my head. "Do whatever it is you do." I commanded.

It took awhile to completely dry my hair and all the wind he propelled through his fingertips made my hair a big knot ball. But...it was dry. And it had saved me a good ten minutes. I patted Greg happily on the head. "Okay, now get out." I pointed to my bedroom door.

"I do your hair, and you won't even let me watch you change?" He pouted his lips.

I rolled my eyes at him and gave him a little shove with my hand, locking the door behind him. "So what do you think?" Katy asked me, twirling around in what I had picked out for her.

"Wait till Nate see's you." I grinned at her.

"Is it okay? I've never been really the pretty kind."

"Are you kidding?" I asked, tearing off my shirt and pulling on a gray cardigan over a light pink tank top. I slid on a floral mini skirt over my hot pink undies and began to comb through my hair with a large brush.

"I was always bullied at my old school." Katy sighed, and took a seat at the edge of my bed. "But I always knew there was more than this , when they would call me names. Even though I never met my Protecter, I always knew I was special."
