Unkown POV
Colombus, Ohio
I held out my hands to push the Lawless off of me. The beast clawed at my skin and ripped into my flesh. I screamed as I fell over onto my school's gym floor. I slowly crawled backwards on my elbows as the animal approached me. I gulped, looking into it's mesmerizing black eyes and it's razor sharp claws. I rolled over just as it sliced its paw down besides me. I jumped onto my feet and bolted in the other direction. I should have listened to my protector, they told me they were coming for me. I had just gotten out of basketball practice and my girlfriend, Emily was waiting for me in the car outside. I had to get to her.
I flicked out my hands trying to spark anything to defend me as they raced towards me. My light brown hair rustled in the wind that emerged from my hands. I closed my eyes and pushed the energy out of me. The bleacher's began to rustle and at once every single window crashed onto the basketball court. I fell backwards as I dodged from the shattered glass, making sure to keep my breathing steady and hold my hand out.
As the Beast pushed against the strong winds, weakening me I managed to reach the double-wide gym doors. How did they find me? I had been careful and haven't hung out with Emily for weeks. I remembered the note I had recieved only hours prior to basketball practice; they had one of us already and I was the next target. My gym sneakers squeaked on the gym floor and my shorts blew in the strong currents. The Beast charged at me and scratched their claws on my unifrom yanking me down just as my hands gripped the door knob. I froze when I heard her voice.
"Greg? Are you there?" Emily yelled from behind the gym doors. The Beast growled and smiled showing me it's large fangs.
"Emily, don't come in here!" I yelled, pressing my back against the gym doors.
"What's going on?" She yelled, as she banged against the gym doors which I pressed against.
The Beast took a single razor sharp nail and scratched it into my right ankle and vanished as quickly as it had come. This was followed by excruciating pain.

"What's that?" I jumped and clasped my chest at the voice. I slammed my locker closed and turned around.
"You scared me!" I yelled as I slapped Chase with the sketchy note.
Chase reached his hands out for it, I pulled my hand away from him. He put hims arms besides me blocking me from escaping, I ducked underneath him. "It's nothing!" I told him tucking it into my jean pocket.
Chase smirked as he walked over towards me. I tugged my books closer to my chest. "Don't- don't come closer." I stuttered taking a few steps backwards.
Chase smiled, "You scared of me, Valerie?"
"No," I stuttered again stumbling backwards as I tripped over a flyer. "just stay away from me."
Chase ran forwards and I turned around, dropping my books onto the floor and sprinting down the hall. My hair flew in front of my face as my shoes clicked against the tile floor and the lights above me flickered. I took a sharp turn to the left and skidded around the corner, but Chase was quick to follow. "Stop running, Valerie it's no use." Chase bellowed from behind me. He grabbed the hem on my jean above my ankle and yanked me onto the ground. I rolled over onto my back as Chase pinned my arms above my head. I struggled against his restraint on me and spat into his face. He rolled his eyes and dug his hands into my pocket to retrieve the note. He smiled to himself as he plucked it from my ownership and read the note.
