Gone too soon

*Shelby's POV*

It's been two months and just yesterday Madison passed away. It's hard to know that my best friend isn't by my side anymore but I have to keep reminding myself she is in a much better place. Right now we are on our way to Madison's funeral. I sighed dabbing my tears away. Harry sighed reaching over and holding my hand as he continued to drive.

"Will Bentley be there?" Lilly asked.

"Mhm, but this is not a time to play. We're here to give our respects to a family member that passed away." I said.

"Okay." Lilly nodded.

We pulled up to the funeral home and got all the kids out. I held Arabella on my hip as Harry held Eliot. We decided to let the others all walk since they are aware they can't be running around.

"I'm going to find Ni real quick. Is that okay?" I asked.

"Of course go ahead." Harry nodded.

"I'll take this cutie of mine." Louis said taking Ara from me.

I walked around finding Niall. I sighed hugging him tightly.

"I love you so much Ni." I whispered.

"I love you too Shel." He cried wrapping his arms around me.

"Is there anything I can do?" I asked.

"No thanks. I'm trying to pull myself together. Morgan and Bentley can't see me like this anymore." Niall sighed.

"Ni, their mum passed away. It's okay to show them you're upset." I said.

"Thank you Shelby. Seriously, you've done so much for me since she passed away. I couldn't have asked for a better little sister." Niall said.

"I'm always here for you Niall." I promised.

"We got to go out there now. Are you speaking as well?" Niall asked.

"Yeah, she asked me to the other day." I nodded as we walked out to the main part of the funeral home where everyone was at.

"Good she'd love that." Niall smiled weakly.

"Daddy." Morgan sniffled.

"Hey baby girl." Niall whispered picking her up.

We walked in and took our seats as the funeral started. Bentley came over sitting beside Lilly. I glanced up at Niall making sure he was okay with that, he just gave me a small nod.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen, we are here to lay Madison Horan to rest. Her husband Niall has something to say, Niall?" The priest asked.

Niall sighed getting up and walking up to the front. I sighed laying my head on Harry's shoulder.

"Madison and I were something that I would never get the chance to have considering my career but we made it work. We have two beautiful children, Bentley and Morgan which makes this so much harder. Especially with Morgan because she doesn't really understand what's going on. I remember when we found out about the cancer, Madison made me promise to move on to find someone to be a mum to our kids but I honestly don't know how I could move on from someone who made my life complete. I love her so much." Niall sighed glancing at the casket. "I just want to thank everyone who has been here for us during this difficult time, and to my amazing sister who helped us anyway she could considering she was and still is heavily pregnant. We couldn't have gotten this far without you. We love you Shel."

"Thank you Niall, Shelby we were told you were going to speak so would you come on up please?" The priest asked.

I nodded handing a sleeping Eliot to Harry ask I got up walking to the front.

"Wow this is tough." I sighed. "I remember Niall bragging that he finally found the girl and as his little sister I wanted so desperately to be the one and only girl in his life. So when he brought Madison home a few days later I tried looking for ways that she couldn't possibly be the one who was going to take my big brother from me. But I couldn't she was the nicest person I have ever met. She tried so hard to fit in when didn't have to try because she did fit in since the beginning. Since the day Niall brought her home she wasn't just my brothers girlfriend. She turned into my best friend. When I was going through boy troubles or the bullying she was there. I love Madison so much and I'm so saddened that she had to leave us so soon. I just have to keep reminding myself she is in a better place and no longer in pain."

"Thank you Shelby." Her mum sniffled hugging me.

"Anytime, I'm so sorry this happened." I whispered hugging her tightly.
