The whole way back to the apartment, I kept thinking about how terrible of a person I was. Cole had every reason to act the way he did and what I said was uncalled for and horrible. As we reached the apartment, I moved away from Seth, just in case Cole was watching and got mad that I was touching Seth or get the wrong idea about us. The front door opened and a part of me feared it would be Cole. I was wrong. Brad came outside and walked slowly up to us. His face showed shock, which was probably from Seth.

“Damn, so it’s true.” Brad said, actually looking shocked for once.

“What did Cole say to you?” I asked.

“Well basically how pissed off he was at you and that you told him that this demon is good and different from the others but he was too pissed off to talk to you.” Brad said; keep his distance from the two of us.

“Where is he?” I asked.

“Sleeping but I suggest letting me wake him up because he may just attack you if you do,” he said, “Oh, and I highly suggestion that you keep him as far away from Cole as you can.” Brad said referring to Seth, who stood next to me.

“Is your dad here?” I asked before he walked away.

‘No, he went out hunting. Why?” He asked.

“We should probably keep this between us because Robert will probably freak out just like Cole did and I really don’t need another fight.” I replied.

“Alright, I love messing with my old man. Secrets are fun to keep from him.” Brad said laughing.

I waited for Brad to come back outside, wondering what it was going to be like. I felt my hands shake and my heart race as Brad came walking out from the door. This was one of the scariest moments I have had before and I’m a demon hunter.

“Cole is waiting in the living room. I’m going to join the two of you so you won’t kill each other.” Brad smiled.

“Okay. Oh and Brad this is Seth.” I said nodding towards Seth who stayed quiet. He smiled slightly at Brad and he said, “After this conversation, you can introduce me to him, but for now, I am going to be just like Cole. Don’t think I’m totally on your side here. I’m not showing it, but I really want to kill him right now.”

“Thanks for controlling yourself. Seth, I’ll be back.” I said.

Seth nodded and Brad and I walked to the apartment.

“You’re awfully serious about this. How is that going?” I asked.

“Oh I have so many things I could say but I am controlling myself because this is a serious situation. It is hard though. I really want to make several comments but won’t.” Brad smirked.

“At least I know you can be serious for once.” I smiled.

We entered the apartment and my stomach was filled with butterflies. I walked into the living room to see Cole sitting on the couch, his face in his hands. He looked to be stressed out and exhausted.

“Hey,” I whispered.

His head shot up and his face was filled with sadness. He didn’t reply to my greeting, which hurt some but I got over it.

“Okay, now I want a clean fight here. The first one pinned down wins.” Brad said in an announcer’s voice.

I shot Brad an evil glare and he just laughed.

“I’m sorry, I just had too. The seriousness was killing me.” He said grinning.

Part of me wanted to laugh but I knew Cole wouldn’t be happy with me if I did.
