Logan:

I stood in the small gift shop. There was a ton of stuff to buy, but I couldn't really focus on any of it. Rory was upstairs in labor and delivery right now. Our little girl was coming. On one hand the thought terrified me, but on the other I couldn't be more excited.

"Need help finding something sir?" The cashier said from behind the desk. He was an older man, probably a volunteer.

"Huh? Oh, no." I replied.

"If you don't mind me asking, are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah. Just a bit nervous." I said with a chuckle. "You see, I'm having a baby today, well actually my girlfriend is. She's upstairs in labor and delivery right now. I told her I was coming down here, but now that I am, I don't really know why." I said, rambling.

"Well congratulations. I've been I your position." He said.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Yeah. I've got three, two boys, one girl." He said smiling. "They're all grown now. But I still remember, as if it had just happened."

"I don't really know what to do." I said walking over to the counter where he was.

"Well, all you can really do is be there for her, and get her something pretty." He said with a chuckle.

I laughed along with him.

"It's a miracle, you know. It's a beautiful gift, a child. I was just as nervous as you. Not really sure what to do with myself. But, as soon as they handed me that little baby, all of that just seemed to fall away." He said to me. "I mean, I was still worried I'd screw up somehow, every parent does, but in that moment, everything was perfect."

"Thank you." I said to him.

"Your welcome. An old man like me tries to help where he can." He said. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"You know what, I think I'll get that arrangement there." I said, pointing to the pink roses.

"A fine choice. So I take it you're having a girl?" He asked.

"Yeah. It's a girl." I replied smiling. Before heading back to my Ace.
