#21 childhood friends

It was Christmas Eve and I couldn't believe I was spending it with my best friend. Since he became popular through vine and went off to go on tours and all that crazy stuff we barely ever spent time with each other.

But this years Holidays would be totally different. He promised me to spend as much time with me as possible. Which wasn't that hard because our families always spent Christmas Eve together since even our parents were the closest friends.

"Yn you want to unpack my gift for you now or tomorrow?" I looked at Shawn surprised. 'Why would you have a gift for me I thought Santa was responsible for that.' Shawn looked at me confused but soon started breaking out in laugher as he was realising I was joking.

I couldn't stop laughing myself, but then I nodded at him. 'I would love to open your present now. '

He got up and told me he'd go downstairs to go and get it. While he was away I made myself comfortable in his bed. I threw his sheets over myself as I smelled the candles he lit up when I came.

He knew I loved lights of any kind and I knew he wouldn't get mad at me for using his blanket since I would always start freezing wherever I was. A couple minutes later Shawn returned with some hot chocolate for the both of us and a small package in his hands. 'Here you go' he handed me the chocolate and I thanked him. It had marshmallows in it and whipped cream on top.

'Your mum just knows how to make a good hot chocolate' I smiled after I had taken a sip. 'Our families want us to come down in twenty minutes to exchange presents and that stuff but I wanted to give you your present now.'

He sat down next to me as he gave me the present. It was wrapped in red wrapping paper and my name was written on it in silver letters. 'Thank you Shawn' I smiled up at him and he smiled back at me. 'Open it! I hope you like it.'

I carefully opened the present and a small black box came to light. I stopped. This looked way too expensive. But Shawn insisted I should continue unwrapping it so i did.

I removed the top of the box and gasped. Laying in there was a beautiful silver necklace and carved in the metal tag was my zodiac sign. 'Shawn this is, this is beautiful thank you so much. But you really didn't need to do this.'

He shook his head and smiled as he got the necklace out of the box. 'I know how much your zodiac sign means to you and when I saw this I thought it was perfect for you.'

I felt his hands shake a little when he put the necklace around my neck. I looked down at my cleavage and the necklace looked beautiful. 'Thank you so much Shawn.' I turned around to him. I smiled up at him and suddenly I felt his hands reach out for my hand.

'You know y/n, I've come to realise that you mean a lot more to me than just a best friend. I've known you for so long now and I haven't  missed anybody more than I missed you when I was away on tour.' He stopped and looked a little insecure. 'I missed you too Shawn' I said to encourage him to keep talking.

But he didn't. Instead he lent in and the next thing I felt were his lips on mine. The kiss was short but it gave me as many butterflies as no kiss has ever given me. 'I love you y/n.' 'I love you too Shawn.'

He smiled at me. 'This is the best Christmas present you could have made me.'
'Oh really?' I chuckled. 'So I can keep the present I originally had for you?' He looked at me laughing. 'No way.'
