You're snuggled up to Shawn, a movie playing in the background but neither of you are really paying attention to it. You're way too caught up in each others presence. Your head is resting on his lap whilst he's tangling his fingers through your hair. Occasionally he would lean down to brush his soft lips over yours, leaving you giggling. Suddenly your tiny world of cheesiness is interrupted. The door to the living room opens and Aaliyah comes in. She hasn't spotted you yet as she was on the phone with one of her friends. She was laughing but when she turned and saw the two of you on the couch she abruptly stopped.

Frowning at you she groaned into the phone "Let me quickly find somewhere else to go, the girl is here again" she rolled her eyes, spitting out the words "the girl" as if she was talking about some kind of poisoning. Your smile fell and you immediately sat up, suddenly feeling really uncomfortable and self-conscious. Aaliyah was leaving the room but as she did Shawn quickly got up to follow her. He had his fists balled and a dark look was plastered on his face. "Aaliyah Mendes, come back in here" he said sternly.

"Shawn no, let her.." you whispered but he interrupted you. "No, I'm not letting her talk shit about my girlfriend. "Aaliyah" he yelled this time. She came back in the room, her phone in the pocket this time. "What?" she asked annoyed. "Why are you acting like this?" She scoffed. "Like what?" Shawns anger grew. "Babe, please" you begged but he ignored you. "Why wont you be nice to y/n. She's my girlfriend and I love her!" "Oh please" Aaliyah spat "you may love her but you're stupid for doing so. She's using you Shawn, why won't you see that?" With that she stormed out and up into her room. You sighed.

You've heard this a lot lately. Fans were tweeting the exact same words and even on the radio you've heard something along those lines. You didn't care about those strangers and neither did shawn but you knew how much the opinion of his sister mattered to him. He stormed after her but you could still hear their yelling from your curled up position on the couch. You felt awful for being the reason Shawn and his sister fought. But what were you supposed to do. From the second you stepped into Shawns life Aaliyah disliked you.

He's told her plenty of times there was no need to worry about him because he knew you genuinely cared and did love him with all your heart. But she didn't let him convince her. You were so caught up in your thoughts, you didn't realize Shawn had re-entered the room until you felt the couch give in a little and strong arms were wrapped around you.

"I'm so sorry" you whispered, your voice cracking. Shawns jaw clenched. "There's nothing to be sorry about, it's her fault not yours." "Shawn" you sighed, sitting up and taking his hands in yours. "It is my fault. If I wasn't in your life there'd be nothing you' have to argue about." You gulped. Where you really doing this right now? "And I can't stand being the reason for your fights. Yu deserve someone who makes you feel like you're on top of the world. Not someone who causes fights and anger and tears." You shut your eyes, trying really hard to stop your own tears from escaping your eyes. "Y/n" you heard Shawns voice. It was barely a whisper. When you opened your eyes again you were met by his already tear stained face. You gasped slightly and carefully brushed his tears away with your thump.

"Don't cry baby, please. But this is the only way I feel like you'll be able to be fully happy, to stop fighting with your sister and rebuild the awesome relationship you two had." You slowly got up from your place next to him. Leaning in you pressed a light kiss onto his forehead before you existed the room. "I love you" you whispered after closing the front door.

A few weeks had passed since you had broken up with Shawn and you were a mess. All you did was lying in bed, hiding underneath tons of blankets and pillows. You simply couldn't forget the hurt and broken look on his face when you left him. Not to mention all the tears. You had never seen him cry ever before that day. You sniffled. Suddenly you heard a light knock on your door and your mom entered the room.

"Hey honey" she compassionately smiled. You blinked up at her. "There's someone at the door for you." You groaned. It was Sunday afternoon. Your friend were either hungover from Saturday night or trying to learn for the math test you had the next day. And you best friend had been texting you since she was away with her boyfriend but wouldn't let you be completely on your own. Sighing you got up. Passing the mirror in your room you realized how awful you looked but you really couldn't be bothered too much. Whoever was at the door would just have to accept the current state you were in.

But as you reached the door you frowned. If only you had fixed your hair a little bit. She wasn't supposed to see you like that. "What do you want?" you asked not sure whether you should be embarrassed or angry. At least she was the reason for the situation you were in right now. Aaliyah looked down at her feet. "Can I come in?" she whispered. You took a step aside to let her in. She followed you into the living room where she sat down on the couch in front of you.

"Listen Y/n" she spoke up, but her voice was small. Yu gave her a surprised look. This was the first time she called you with your name instead of saying the girl. "What happened between you and Shawn. My intentions never were to make both of you this upset." The mentioning of shawn made your heart ache. Obviously you had thought about I'm a million times the past weeks but you had successfully avoided any conversation about him. "He looks like you, he isn't leaving his room anymore and.." her voice broke. "I've never ever seen him crying like this."

You felt tears welling up in your eyes as you thought about an upset Shawn.

"But you know what the worst is? He hasn't said anything about it, he hasn't told anyone but I know it. I know I'm the reason you broke up with him. I'm the reason his crying up in his room when he thinks nobody's noticing." Silence. You couldn't help but feel bad for Aaliyah. In the end all she wanted to do was protect her brother. She didn't want to hurt anyone. At least she didn't realize she was hurting you. "Well that's exactly how I felt. I felt awful for being the reason you and Shawn fought. That's why I left. I didn't want to be the reason your relationship was going down." Aaliyah now looked up at me. "I'm so sorry. I was being such a bitch. I'm not normally like that. And I feel so bad for how I must have made you feel." She sniffled and you reached in your pocket to get a fresh tissue out. "Here" you softly said and she thanked you as she took it, whipping away her tears. "You know, the reason I'm here is because I want to apologize to you. And because I want 'to ask you to come back to Shawn. Please." You smiled sadly at her words. "Aaliyah, I broke his heart. I don't think he still wants me back."

"Uh, actually I do" a rough voice behind you spoke up.

You turned around in shock. "What are you doing here?" you gasped. Shawn shrugged. "I heard Liyah plan this out with her friend. So I followed her. I just couldn't wait any longer to see you. y/n I love you. I know, this went not at all how I had planned it but.. I can't live without you." Your expression softened and a smile formed on your lips. But before you got up you turned to Aaliyah. "Is it okay for you.." you asked shyly but she immediately spoke up. "Oh my god please, please kiss him already. I'm sick of being the reason you two are separated. Don't ever listen to anything I say anymore." You gave her a quick hug. "Don't feel bad anymore, yeah? Everyone makes mistakes." You whispered in her ear and she smiled. "Thank you" she whispered.

Finally you got up and made your way over to Shawn. Bu before you could reach him he already had his hands on your cheeks, pulling you closer to him. "I love you so much" he smiled before passionately kissing your lips.
