Shawn Mendes Imagines

#34 graduation

A/N: Well you are in for a treat today! Two imagines in only one day!! But i got really inspired, so why not haha

"Wow, you look stunning" you said, as you entered Aaliyah's room. "Thank you y/n" she smiled at you. You had come over to the Mendes household early this morning because Aaliyah had asked you to do her hair for the big day. You had just finished and she put on her dress. Standing in front of the mirror she looks herself up and down. "I'm a little nervous though." You nudge her slightly. "There's no need to be" you promise her as the two of you exit the room. 

When you walk down the stairs and enter the kitchen Shawn and his parents are already waiting for you. You see Karen gasp a little before a huge smile spreads across her face. "Honey, you're gorgeous" she smiles as she embraces Aaliyah in a big hug. Manny grabs the car keys before announcing they really have to leave. "We'll see you later" you call after them as they leave the house. 

Since Aaliyah has to be at her school about an hour before the official graduation started you had figured you'd attend separately so you and Shawn had some more time getting ready yourself. You had brought your dress and your makeup over and were about to go up in Shawn's room to get dressed when you realize how quiet Shawn had become. 

You pull Shawn closer to you as you look up at him. "What's up?" Shawn puts his arms around you, resting his chin on your head. "She's growing up so fast. It's her graduation today. She'll be in high school after summer break." You sigh. You had already anticipated something like this. Shawn was so protective over everyone in his life. Especially over his little sister. "It's alright Hun. She may be growing up, but she'll always be your little sister. That's not gonna change." 

He sighs deeply, before pressing his lips to your forehead. "I guess you're right." You giggle into his chest. "I'm always right. Now let's get ready, we don't wanna be late, do we?" Shawn shakes his head laughing, but follows you up the stairs. You quickly put on a decent make up and put your hair in a low bun, before you change into the dress you had chosen for today. It's a dark blue one, with a white and rose flowery print. It was short but rather flowy with long sleeves. 

"Y/N, you ready to leave?" Shawn calls from downstairs. You quickly grab your rose heals before making your way downstairs. "What did I do to deserve such a beautiful girlfriend?" Shawn grabs for your hand and twirls you around. You giggle at him. "You're such a fool." "You still love me though" he laughs as he grabs his keys and the two of you get in the car. 

You arrive at Aaliyah's school where you meet Shawn's parents and the rest of the family members that could make it. You sat down together and waited for the graduation to start. Everything went smoothly and as Aaliyah walks up to receive her certificate Shawn squeezes your hand. "I'm so proud of her" he whispers and you lean your head on his shoulder. "Me too." 

Soon after it's over and you all go outside where you meet Aaliyah. Everyone congratulates her and Shawn pulls her in a big hug. Aaliyah squeals. "Shawn, let go!" she laughs and he eventually does. Afterwards the pictures are being taken. It's Aaliyah with Shawn, with each of her parents and with all her cousins. You stand at the side, smiling at the family having a good time together. You love the Mendes family with all your heart, almost as much as you love your own. 

"Y/n!" Aaliyah eventually calls out. Your head shoots into her direction. Shawn is standing by her side, smiling widely at you, Karen in front of them, ready to take a picture. "C'mon over here, you belong in the picture too!" You carefully approach them. "Are you sure?" you ask a little insecure. Aaliyah rolls her eyes as she pulls you closer to her. "Of course you do." Your heart melts a little. It really means lot to you that she let you be a part of all this. 

You take a few pictures before Aaliyah is called by one of her friends to join their pictures as well. You were about to step aside as Karen stops you. "Wait! Now only the two of you." She gestures towards you and Shawn. Shawn's smile widens as he grabs your hand and pulls you into his side. You sneak your arm around his waist as the two of you smile into the camera. 

Suddenly you feel Shawn leaning in, crushing his lips onto yours. "Shawn" you laugh against his lips. He pulls back, chuckling. "Bet that's a cute one." You walk over to Karen shaking your head. "This boy" you laugh and she joins you.

 "He's right though." She grins as she shows you the photographs. "It's adorable."
