Dear Malorie Blackman,
Your book, Noughts and Crosses, left me in tears. Your words mesmerize me. Your writing transports me to a different world.
Ever since the age of eleven, you have been my idol. Others fantasize about meeting Harry Styles or Taylor Lautner, but not me. You were always the one I wanted to meet.
The thing I love about you, is that you’re not afraid. You’re not afraid to write from your heart. You’re not afraid to face reality as it is, instead of changing it to how you would like it to be. You’re not afraid to express your opinions and speak your mind. You’re not afraid of what people think or what people will say. You’re not afraid of anything.
You are absolutely incredible. You have such raw talent and, instead of writing what you want to write, or what others want you to write, you write what has to be written. And you write it so well. There are only a few writers in the world who can write with as much beauty, strength and wisdom as you do.
You are absolutely amazing and inspiring, and it would be an honour to meet you.
Your No #1 fan,
Emma xxx
